Arrow Help Me Out. Watch Video

Here is a video of my 01 ss. It is the 4th and 5th video..Car is a m6, 408, bmr lca,adj trq arm, sfc, prb, and front k member.I also have a 9'' w/4.11's..The video is at the local 1000' track...1.55 60', 9.15 @ 112mph. This was with stock suspension and no rear sway bar...Car is 3620lb and 3880lb with me in it...Notice I take it off the rev limiter

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...566&highlight=

Now, we just put qa1 r's in the front with 325lb springs and a bmr rear extreme sway bar......Car is on stock shocks and springs in the rear. What do I set the qa1's for the street and the track...I've read a few threads, and most say around 3.....

Going to the track this Saturday..What should I start at? Also, what should I set the sway bar at? Right now the sway bar is neutral I think...All hekp appreciated.

I'd like to hit 9.0's or high 8's on motor in the 1000'....maybe cut the 60 down to 1.5 or high 1.4's....Is it possible?

Each car is going to act a little different and the way I understand it is a 6spd car is harder to get dialed in than an a4. I would probably leave the sway bar where its at to start with. You can start off as soft on the shocks as you would like and just keep adjusting until you find the sweet spot, but the sweet spot may mean adjusting the sway and torque arm also. Start with 3 on the shocksand go from there. Also you want a rear sway bar and no front sway to get your 60ft times down. Are you leaving with your foot on the floor or are you pushing it down when you start dumping the clutch? I agree that it looks like it is trying to bog and I dont think it should be. Its all trial and error just have to play with it.

Appreciate the info.....Yes I do just dump it with my foot on the floor....I'll try and slip it a little and back of the rpms some.....I do have the front sway bar removed as of now,,,,it was on the car in the video with no rear sway bar and stock suspension....

Thats what it looked like to me, didnt look like it was transfering weight very well. I think you will be a lot happier with the front off and the rear on and I dont think i would try to slip it. Rather I think I would try playing with the rpm's I left at and see what works best. Slipping the clutch is going to hurt your 60's worst than help I would think. The reason I asked was I thought you might not be punching the pedal to the floor fast enough but it sounds like you are, but I would stay away from slipping it if at all possible.

I tried 3 launches @6k and the front shocks on 2....
1.6219 60' 4.7112 7.2927 96.30 9.3563 109.89 1st pass
1.6038 60' 4.7010 7.2789 96.09 9.3433 109.60 2nd pass
1.6143 60' 4.7208 7.3063 95.93 9.3748 109.60 3rd pass

Last pass of the rev limiter @7200
1.5431 60' 4.5630 7.0891 99.10 9.1045 112.22

I'm going to get 4.30's and a spool...I think the gear wll help with the bogging.
Running 28' 10.5 stiffs...

Also, need to work on the pinion angle of the swaybar,tq arm, and lca....

All help appreciated...

I really doubt you will see much of a difference with the stock springs and shocks in the back with the squating and all.

Every car is different. You just have to play with it.

My car did not wake up untill it got some shocks out back.

I would launch the car differently and find the sweet spot. Full suspension cars that are dialed in can dump the clutch while they nail the gas. I would not nail it so fast, I bet you will be suprised with that that will do.

Whatever yo do don't get a spool and more gear untill the suspension is working not to mntion if your pinion angle and all needs work........

My car with stock shocks (lakewood drags up front) and springs, no sway bars at all, panhard rod, boxed factory LCA's, non adj TQ arm and a single adj PHR my car 60's 1.6's........ not so sticky 15X8 stickies to boot and that was spinning.

You have to have the right parts and everything dialed in for it to work.
