Default Surging after burnout IAC serching

After my burnout my IAC is causing my engine to surge looking for idle and sometimes stalls out. Can i disconnect this and just run with a higher idle? I was told by a race with that they make one that can be set and screwed down. Does anyone know where to get this or can i just leave it disconnected. Will anything else be effected by this being unplugged? Thanks

I think you can just plug a certain resistor into it to see a constant resistance that way it always stays the same.

I will have to look into that. I am going to look for an aftermarket IAC that you can set.

you need to talk to your tuner.

You can crack the TB blade open a bit, but your tuner can fix that. Guys this is silly but I can't remember what an acceptable IAC range is, is it up to 50 or 100? I think it would max out at 125? Been so long.

Back in the day, user justme (something like that) would talk about getting the IAC's to the count you wanted, and then I think unplugging it. But since you have an aftermarket TB, you can crack the blade and see how that goes. At some point the idle rpms get too high and the car will start driving itself so that's when you know you've gone too far. That was like 1400 rpms for me.

I did end up unplugging it. The idle was higher, but that is what i wanted so i did not stall out after my burnout. There has to be a fix for this. I will have to talk to the tuner about it.

I've had my car sometimes stall coming out of the burnout. I just make sure that I ease off the gas, if I drop the pedal fast that's when it seems to do it.

You can drill that Tb hole out a tiny bit, and I mean a tiny bit and that will help. Take a sharp x-acto blade and put it in the hole, and give it like 3 turns, just removing a tiny bit of material. That's all it took to get my car to stop stalling. I checked the iat readings before doing it and after, I don't remember what the #'s were but it changed it by about 8 consistantly... wasn't much but that's all it took.

Thanks, I have an after market Clay Forrester 91mm i think Tb. The Tuner did drill a hole in the plate. I guess it idled ok on the dyno, but not at the track. It will just take some tuning and adjusting i guess.
