Default How do i get my 60' time down?

You can see that i have a lot of mods done to my car in my sig. I have a th400 with a 4000 stall. Procharged also spraying the car with a 150 shot moser rear with 4.11's. The best 60' ever was a 1.55. Should i be getting a better 60'?

Your question was should you be doing better than 1.55 60' times.... the easy answer is YES!!!!!

Now how do you get there. A couple questions:

1. Trans-brake or foot brake?
2. Nitrous out of the hole? or leaving on boost?
3. Tires?
4. Track prep.
5. Rear sway bar
6. Has the car been 4-cornered?

IMO to get the full effect of boost/nitrous you need to be using either a trans-brake or 2-step.

Need a good set of tires - not large, but big enough to your application

Track prep is everything. Do you spin or dead hook out of the hole?

Your QA1 setting. I have mine set 2 front; 6 rear to start.

If you don't have a good sway bar you need to get one. Do you leave straight?

4-corner weight balancing. You need to talk to a good shop that knows what they are doing. You more than likely will be surprise how much weight is up front than can/should be move to the rear with some suspension changes.

Not hard, but you need to learn/know suspension. You have the power, just need to put it to the track.

1) Trans brake
2) I have the gas pedel to the floor (i think it has a few lbs of boost). The nitrous has a msd digital window switch that comes on at 3,000 rpms. So is should be spraying out of the hole.
3) I have a set of m/t street slicks tubed type.
4) Yes
5) Yes
6) Yes - the car was taken to a professional guy that sets up suspension and he weighed all 4 corners and the whole 9 yards.

This is what is throwing me off..... I should be killing the 60' mark!

2 step what is that?

Call madman I think he does over the phone tech support for a reasonable fee so you can get your chassis setup. Sounds like you have some good parts just need to tune the chassis.

Intersection points and shock settings make a huge difference, I've spun 33x16.5s at the track untuned and would pull the tires at stop lights without even burning out after I got my 4 link setup.

With you spraying and on boost out of the hole, you should easily be in the 1.3-1.2 range.

Something just isn't right. Have someone see if you are spinning out of the hole. You should be able to "feel" it spin. Track conditions?

A lot of people use the 2-step (studder box, etc - there are numerous posts about the 2-step) to built boost on launch.

See if you can get someone to take a video of your launch.

The studder box or 2 step will only allow me to rev to the stall speed though right?

I have a 4000 vigalante (how ever you spell it) stall.

They are 28 x 10.5 x 16"

I'm hooking but......... it's a bitch to get a good 60' time........... 1.5? is crappy as to what i should be getting...........

Anyone?

What is the most important thing i need to check to get the 60' down?

Looks to me like the car isn't squating or transfering weight to the rear, but I am by no means any expert. From watching the video, it looked like most of the weight is still on the front suspension when you leave. You may want to try to soften the rear shocks some, maybe change the stance of the car to be more level instead of lower on the front of the car.

Just my $.02 and like I said, I am by no means any type of expert on this.

That is exactly what i was told earlier today from a guy that runs in the low 5's in the 1/8. He said to take my front sway bar off and that should help a lot.

Any opinions on that?

Oh yeah, take that front sway bar off. That bar isnt allowing the weight transfer like it should.
