Default Questions about HC auto and 60fts.

We have guy in our local club. He just did a bunch of mods. He has 3200 vig,3.73 gears, He has long tubes, 224/224 cam 112lsa think about 580 lift.
He has some heads think stock tweaked a bit. He is a 2001 with ls6 intake.
Running at like 3000 feet density air the other day. His best was like 12.6 at think 108,most of his mph showed lower but think the timing equipment was messed up for mph. and his best 60fts were like 1.79. Et drag radials and think he said something about pretty much at the wear bars.
So thought his 60ft was a bit low. Shouldn't he be able to get 1.60 60fts? Is it that 3000 density alititude. His tires being worn down too much? Is it maybe that he just doesn't have the power to do 1.6 60fts maybe cause he doesn't have expensive or highly modded out heads?

I was thinking he could do like a 12.2 with a 1.60 60ft. I also think he was running way rich on his runs like low 12s or in the 11s for afr. Obviously he has to get that afr up to 12.8 to 13.0 range .Not sure how much power he would lose from being that rich.

So am I dreaming about the 1.60s?

I'd be surprised if he could pull a 1.60 60's with that verter, power and weight. High 1.6X's would be great. For reference, I pulled a 1.62 best with my SS3600 w/ 404/370 to the wheels .. dead hook. Flashed the stall just off idle. With my 3200 the best I could manage was 1.7X's .. dead hooking.

3200 stalls just aren't great track stalls unless you intend to spray. Even my 3600 is too weak for the track .. but N20 is in my near future
