03 Cobra times?
Well it was the first time I've been back to HRP since I moved back to Houston 5 months ago. The conditions were normal for August in Houston mid to high 90's, with a good amount of humidity. Now to get to the point of my topic - I saw a beautiful red '03 Cobra convertible, it was lowered and the guy removed his passengers side headlight. He ran a 13.85 @ 112.79 he was on street tires like myself. I'm wondering if this is stock mph for the Cobra's? I'd also like to know what kind of ET's people are getting out of their Cobra's in street trim. TIA.

Re: 03 Cobra times?
I thought they ran 13.0-12.8's bone stock @ 110. I only saw this guy make 1 pass and it wasn't very good as far as him getting off the line.

They are a bastard to launch on the stock tires but on a well prepped track and a good pass, they can run 12.6-12.8. I have personally witnessed an 03 coupe run a 10.8x with only 4.10 gears, pulley, air meter, exhaust, custom tune and slicks/skinnies. They respond very well to mods.

I would say he removed the passenger headlight to allow the air to travel less restricted into the air inlet.
Also their are a wide variety of times for the stock 03 Cobras, depending mostly on driver. Usually an experienced driver can get a 12.8 at 112mph out of one.

Re: 03 Cobra times?
seen a few run mid 12s stock with a good driver and sticky tires. local guy ran best of 12.67 at 112 with his 03 coupe, then added chip, smaller pulley, dynomax mufflers, K & N and 4.10 gears to run 11.80s at 116.

Re: 03 Cobra times?
My first few runs in my '03 Cobra resulted in 2.5 short times and mid 13's at 106-107mph. I wasn't powershifting. After getting the hang of it a bit, I got it down to a 12.85 @ 111mph on a HORRIBLE 2.4 60'. My only mods are a chip & a K&N filter. Nittos will put me at a 1.8 60' and around an 11.95-12.1x @ 112mph or so. The power is there. The driving ability isn't...yet.
I've yet to spray it even though the kit is installed. I should have a pulley & exhaust done soon. I'll get a nitrous tune then as well. That should put me in the high 10's on ET Streets.

My best buddy ran 8.0's at 92.8 with 2.2 60'on bfg drag radials. It has long tubes, flowmasters, throttle body, and a 2.8 pully. On the street its killer...doesnt spin at all

Re: 03 Cobra times?
one goes to my track pretty often and pulled a 12.7 stock. now with a pulley and bfgs in 90degree weather(about 20 minutes ago) he was running 12.3@114 or so bogging like hell off the line

Re: 03 Cobra times?
I talked to a guy at the track a month ago who was running a 50 shot-dry. He also had 315 DR's on back. I'm pretty sure he was running the stock pulley. He popped off some 11.7's @ 119mph on 1.8 60's.
