I drive my car on, and I use a set of boards to help with the angle. The Brimar I have has what they call a "beaver tail" that pitches the back portion of the trailer down, which helps with the loading angle.

Another way is to back the truck up on a set of ramps, this helps with approach angle as well.

But, I find 2 pieces of 2x10 that are about 4 feet long seem to do the job just as well.

I tried 4 hours straight one day trying to load my car on our flatbed trailer. Got to the point where i took the rear set of tires off the trailer so the a$$ end was on the ground but the nose of the car would still hit. Ended up getting the chainsaw & a board and cut up a pair of 4"x4" blocks. Jacked up the car and put the blocks on each side between the lower a-arms & the shock mount. Car goes right on the trailer with no dovetail and 4' ramps. -Redneck Engineering

Gotta do what ya gotta do lol, these cars have a ton of front overhang and the doors are low so you really have to be careful about the trailer you buy. Try before you buy if you can, very few trailers are 4th gen f-body/C5 friendly.

Short ramps, no dovetail and tall, non removable fenders and you are pretty screwed. Then when you get into an enclosed since the ramp is the door and not open in the middle the nose drags at the point in the front. My enclosed has the low car package with a 6" dovetail and 3' extension ramps and it barely makes it.

Screwed a pair of 2" thick boards to where the rear tires would be so i wouldn't have to do dukes of hazard on it. $20grand car on a trailer worth $500.

Fenders slide up and off for easy access. I found one local and saved a ton. This one and the "Slone Slider" are made in Texas. So all the good deals are in Texas for them I want to say in Texas they start at $3,200

I have put lower Open road race Corvetes on this trailer and never even got close to scraping

Yeah go over kill on the tow limits. For example if the truck can pull 6800 pounds and full loaded your trailer is 6,000 then I would step up to a larger truck.

Aluminum helps a lot but even the open trailers are being stolled and choped up.

For enclosed a Halon fire supresion system is your friend with a camera and if you can run a line from the bottle to the inside of the truck.

See a fire in the trailer on the camera you can hit the Halon to buy you some time to get off the road and break out the hand held bottles.

To many people who have lost the car and trailer due to fires or end up with big money repairs.

I also have a Texas Rollback -- just picked it up this year. I have a lowered, nose heavy T/A and I was able to get it on the trailer without any proplems. I've also put a Viper on it with no issues. They aren't cheap, but when if you put a winch on the front (as I did) you can get just about anything on there, even if it doesn't run!!! Not to mention the fact that when you want to unload, you don't have to start the car...just roll the bed back and let the brake out slowly.

Also, I towed mine with my '07 Tahoe 4wd and did just fine through the WV turnpike and through the 10 inches of snow in Chicago when I got there. Whatever you get though - get brakes on the trailer!

my Texas Rollback for over 14 yrs.. No problems loading Vettes w/ spoilers, low hanging headers, etc. By far, easier to use than a ramped trlr. Doors can be opened while the bed is ramped back. Fenders can be removed when trlr is in transport mode.
Texas rollback has been sold a couple times, and the folks there were ALOT less than helpful when I wanted info on the unit.
I paid near $4K w/ airdam. I've since added a winch, electric jack, all LED liting, and new DUPONT catalized paint.
