Default Land of the 14 secs

I was wondering is it normal to see consistent 14 seconds? There was a local "Run what you brung" drag race. I know these are all "average" drivers. All the LS1/LS2 cars ran 14 seconds consistently. Even a C6 ran a 13.49 I was like There was one decent run F Body run of 13.6. I shouldn't talk because I don't have my F body yet, but I was just disappointed that's all. I mean a decent running IMPORT would give them a run at a stop light. These cars make so much power, with a decent launch I'd think they could run 13's all day. With minor mods dip into the 12's.

If only 1 fbody was able to make it into 13's it was from alot of crappy drivers out that day, or maybe crap track prep or even the DA through the times off.

Never seen a 14 sec LS1 F-body, even with a crappy driver. Unless the car broke something or hit the brakes on the track. My first pass ever in the SS was 13.4. Ran it into a 13.000 all nite the first time on F1's. w/ 2.3-2.4 60'.

I see alot of guys around here (1/8) running in the 9's, which according to tables would be 14's in the 1/4. Of course I always think to myself that if it was a 1/4 they would run better due to MPH. I personnaly drove my m6 lid + exhaust car to 8.3-8.5 pretty consistent on the same track with guys running high 8's, 9's so alot of the cars are missing the DRIVER MOD lol

All I see at my track for stock/near stock LS1's are low 14's. Track prep kinda sucks, so pretty much 2.2-2.5 60's are the norm. Plus almost 5000 DA around here. My best is 14.1, at 102. Traction is the main problem.

the altitude and DA have a lot to do w/ it. the norm for a stock ls1 car over here is 13.9-14+ depending on the driver and of course the other things mentioned. I raced this Saturday night and at 10:30PM the DA was barely coming down at 6400

WRONG - Those decent running imports. The ones your buddy has. Or the ones you're buddy has seen run, or heard they run 13's and 14's don't exist.

Lets play a little game. No F's are AWD. So, please list the IMPORTS, you think, would give an LS-1 or 2 a run. that aren't AWD. The last time F's were built was 2003. So this import list needs to be non AWD 2003 or older, stock.

my car ran 14s stock at bristol took alot of rwhp to get 11s...normal summer d/a ranges from 3500 to 5000 and the track has an incline.....

you ask are 14s normal?

it all depends on were you are at....

The track is pretty low elevation. Considering its pretty easy to launch at about 2.5k and nail each shift to get into the 13's But who know's I have yet to get an F body. I consider myself a decent driver so we'll see.
