I would just remove the top spring adjuster, stick it on the bottom, then take a piece of tubing and make it just long enough to keep the spring in with the shocks on how you want to, two 2" pieces of tubing will be a lot cheaper than springs, JMO.

You'll also be able to adjust ride hight with the tires still on that way.

we already welded up the spring perches up top and didnt want to have to fab anything on the rearend.... springs arent that much when you have warehouse distributor or jobber pricing on almost any brand/part you can think of...

Isn't building car stuff fun, you plan it out forever then end up changing everything when you build it, then wish you did something different some where later

No turning back on my project, there is no front, rear or floor in the car

Wow that's really close, I just cut off my front shock towers, they were pretty heavy, it looks like they are made out of at least 1/8" I'll weigh that stuff for guys that want to know later, I'd guess an easy 20 pounds per side and that's just the very center, I am hoping to drop over 200 pounds off the front.

Are you running a class?

Unfortunately, that couldn't be truer. I just don't know the right people, or at least I don't know them well enough.

That looks like a cool class, if I did that I would go BBC F-2 on mine.

No limit on cubic inches, wtf LOL. That doesn't seem too fair, you could run two 500 hp kits with progressives and a 700+ motor Good thing the tire is the limiting factor.

you could but many people with 50,000$ motors wont show up to our small races that only pay 1200-2000$ for a win...

small payouts keep the big dogs out... sometimes

That's true, I won't even build mine to fit a class it is pointless unless you have cash to blow. The guys that I know that go the fastest are the money with the biggest pocket books.

You're just not going to build a 20k car and set any new records

I'd have to run some f'd up class with my car the way I am building it and I wouldn't be close to competitive, 25.2 under 3,000 with a bbc and twin's with 33x17's I'd have to run well into the 6's in most classes like the nostalgia pro street is basically what I am building with a lower power motor.
