Default ATI damper, can you just run it without the A/C pulley?

I have the 10% ati damper with a/c. I no longer have a/c and just want to make sure it's ok to run this one with the a/c pulley removed. They have a seperate part number for the one with no a/c so that's why I'm a little worried. TIA for any info.

Thanks, I just got off the phone with the ati tech line and he said the same thing. Now what I don't get is, why is the damper with no a/c more expensive than the one with the a/c pulley? It makes no sence, your better off buying it made for a/c and just taking off the extra a/c pulley

dumb question, can you get rid of the 6 rib and keep the 4 rib a/c for a drag setup?

no, you need to turn the alt. all the time. You can ditch the 4 rib completely, and you can put a 4 rib belt in place of the 6 rib if you're only running the ALT. That's what I did.

i have a std chevy cs130 alt bolted to the front of the block next to the front cover, and a heim for adjusting belt tension.
it rides on the a/c side of the pulley.
its a perfect match.
cheap too. i had a bolt the right length and some heims in the shop. just tacked her up.
trying to stay simple.

I'm intrested in how you mounted a standard alt. to the motor, because if you can bolt up a standard one, thatn means you can bolt up a 16 volt one too (If you see where I'm going with this)

ill get some pics up friday afternoon for you.
with a stock ls1 motor mount, its going to be close.
i already had a small block k member and solid mounts, so i just dropped the motor in with blank plates, centered it up, and welded them to my sbc solid mounts.

here ya go.
LMK if you have any questions. i have a homeade backbrace on it as well. i use a factory hole in the block on that brace as well. its the only threaded boss on the drivers side front of the motor.
turn it 7000 rpm, made hundreds of passes, never slung. it will squeal when its freezing out for a couple of seconds, or if you just washed the motor(wet)

I have a motor plate on my car, so the motor mount isn't a concern. I could easily put that ti-rod up to the plate as well probably.

Cool, looks like I have a way to mount a 16 volt alt. now, and will be able to sell off my BMR adjustable ALT bracket and the stock ALT when get to the swap

its a cs130 alternator off a 87 monte carlo with a v8. full size trucks of the same year use the same alternator. if you were trying to match up some measurements.
good luck with it.
