The guy who owns the yellow vette had bills old 400 fogger motor from the GMHTP article in it at Bristol a few years ago and then when bill was done with the turbo motor somehow it ended up in that guy's yellow vette. Bill told me on the phone he sold it to him cuz he became "afraid" of it.

Sorry, but I don't consider McCauley's motor to be a real LT1... It's a carbureted SBC that just happens to be reversed cooled. 
Its no less impressive than baxter running the same times with a vortech and a motec. Or Chris Sikora running it with a distributor and F.A.S.T.

Re: Vince M is back?? 9.08@ 159!! It's an LT1 motor for sure, look at the waterpump. That doesn't fit on a SBC. The LT1 is based off a SBC. It has some killer AFR LT1 227 heads on it. A SBC reversed cool doesn't look the same. If it's a LT1 block with LT1 heads then it's an LT1. The way air and fuel enters a motor does not determine what a motor is.

Regarding Vince's motor not being a realy LT1:
it has an optispark. It's a LT1, simple as that. You can't have a gen I SBC with an optispark now can you?

Bobby oh contrare on the internet grudges if I'm not mistaken I was called to the carpet,I did nothin but back up dave on that thread last year and only tried to deflate a swole head that not just he can build a motor...I remember even a quote by you (Joe who are you? where did you come from?) ..I'm just rubbin it in a lil, the so called bench racer "put up"..no harm no foul,no internet grudge. I wont lie however and say I believe everything I read though either without any verification and only "well I know him he wouldnt lie" "I was there but I didnt see it with my own eyes" .....I'm not half as harsh as he was to me and others on the cz28 board.. Pardon me for returning the favor

It just seemed that you said what you had to say already and everytime a thread about Vince gets started, you chime in on the past. I guess its a pet peeve that my wife irritates me on so regularly I took it out on you
I guess I give a person more credit on this subject cause I know if they are lying, it will end up catching up with them and only make them look the more foolish.

And BTW, what's the holdup? Why has it taken so long for the LT1 camp to break into the 8s? Is it just that there are very few people trying, or does the motor have some performance hindering characteristics that have yet to be overcome?

With a broad sense of imagination on my part I rationalized that if a carbed or throttle body induction setup could be considered OEM LT1 and utilizing the supposed 10.5 tire,chromoly stock suspension fantasy I figured heck my car is modified stock. LOL!
I pick my motor up this coming Friday from ARE. The funny part about it is I already have my 2nd engine finished with the new combination ready to go in that I didn't plan to run until this spring. Good By Nitrous Hello Forced Induction!

Well i will say 1 thing to vince and joe , joe has produced NUMEROUS time slips and videos of 9sec N/A passes , and vince i havent see squat on your car not a slip not a video not even any of your friends to vouch , they were there and saw it ...... i followed the post yall are talking about and i know you claimed a 9.97 then wrecked the car , then joe put down a 9.94 and all the sudden the post was gone and in you signature you had 9.93 seems a lil fishy to me ... if its just coicidence , then i appoligize and am way outta line , but i dont think not 1 person on this board will say they take someones word for what they run with no proof , i see nothing wrong in joe asking for proof ... and if yall believe everything yall here , then FARMER put my name up for first V6 in the 7sec ETs
