The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Rick I wouldnt get to ancy This is the same guy that "claimed" to be the first n/a lt1 in the 9's also with a 9.97, that I found out recently may not have been n/a at all... maybe hes moved on now to trying to be the first in the 8's to...no matter if you see he post something like that next few weeks I would ask for some type of verification on it ..I yet seen proof of the 9.97 or was it 9.93
who knows it changed overnight somehow right after I ran a 9.94 back in march and per a reliable source the gas was plumbed in the day he claims he broke in the 9's n/a...I already chased a seemingly bogus record hate to see someone else do the same thing, not a big deal to me. Cause what he thought n/a prolly was unbeatable, even if assisted got owned and will be put further down the pike maybe as soon as this weekend
I could be playin right along side you guys in the chase for 8's if I wanted, but I'm satisfied knowing the car will do it,even if I dont have a timeslip to show for it..This N/a thing is kinda fun for now.... It is fun watchin the battle though
whats that I read on cz28... 36 squared!!!!...whats that a 350 shot?????
hell, I only ran a 6.23 1/8
If I remember correctly I did see a nitrous kit on the car but I dont know if it was used or not. "Apparently" he went through the traps backwards at 9.97 @ 13Xmph and over the wall.
I dont know the complete story though. I remember that period of time well cause I saw another car wreck at over 140mph around the same timeframe. I thought there was something going on with the track. A bunch of cars got loose on the big end. The car I saw wreck was a mustang on spray that got the throttle stuck!! OUCH!
Cheers,
Chris
Rick I'll be lookin for the PM....
As with anything, take it with a grain of salt since its second hand information to me.
First off, Vince is a friend of mine. Its not to hard to believe that his car is a 9sec NA car....the motor was built by Fast Times, dynoed 707hp on the engine dyno, and the car has an insane chassis (FJ Smith). its a gutted race car. I havent seen any times with my own eyes, but knowing how much time, money, and GOOD chassis/motor he has in that car, its nowhere's near a far-fetched number.
The car is not tubbed....I dont know if he has the stock style rear or if its a 4 link. I think it is a 4 link tho.
The yellow vette is not his...that was one of the Billy Futrouis cars from Speedway. Everyone called it "king vette". I think it went something like 168mph in the 1/4, not sure on that tho. Last I heard, it was sold to a dude in NJ.
