Default Trans Brake, and stock rear end...

How many have you had this setup, and used the trans brake on a stock rear end??

I know there are people that are in the low 11's and high 10's on a stock rear, so thats why I am asking..

My current mods are a Futural 408 with a TH400 with a 3300 stall and trans brake, suspension and some weight reduction. I am saving up for a new rear, and have not even ran the car at the track yet. But I would like to take it here in the next couple of weeks, to get some NA times down. I want to so bad to use the trans brake, but really don't want to have to trailer the car home ha ha.

So what would you do? Just prestall the car up, and go off of the foot brake, or take the chance and run the Trans Brake??

RISKY, though that's a small stall.

That stock rear should last for at least 1 run, well maybe 20 feet anyway.

Ha ha you guys are funny. I have another rear end I could stick in it, if this one does go. But that would be a pain in the *** to get it back home from the track.

This upcoming winter I will be hopefully going with a Midwest rearend.

Yeah kinda. lol. I just wanted to see all of your guys input on it.

I have never been in a car with a transbrake, so i am not sure how they act. I am sure they are violent.

Violent enough to rip the teeth off my Moser 12-bolt ring and pinion. Violent enough to break the axle studs off my Moser 12-bolt. Although the nitrous didn't help either. Just be careful and plan for carnage accordingly!!
