Powertrain Control Module ?

Powertrain Control Module ? I want to know where the red wire from the alternator in a 98 LS1 camaro goes to. In the haynes maual it looks like it goes to the stock PCM.. Or the stock guage cluster. I cut that wire in the winter and now I am not getting any charging out of the alternator. SO I need someone to tell me exactly where to hook it up. Thanks. It looks like it says in the haynes manual for V8 it is VIN P on the powertrain control module.... What ever that means. i've had another guy tell me that it is in the stock guage cluster. Can some one help thanks
