Re: New Best
Good running! I'm confused with your signature though. You say you have a 2002 Z28 A3. Do you mean A4 auto tranny? "405.7 RWHP with unlocked converter" so you apparently have an automatic but then you go on to say "M6 on Good Year....." Do you have a standard or automatic tranny?
If you are only running 1.9 60' times then a looser converter would get you well into the 11s with that high mph.

Re: New Best
I think he had a M6 car, then he switched to a TH350/TH400 3 spd auto tranny.. The times in his sig are his old M6 times... The ones listed are with the new A3 tranny

Re: New Best
Yah it is now a TH350 but in the begining I was breaking Flexplates a total of 3 so I had the M6 in and out a few times. But now the M6 has been sold for a while and I am trying to sort out my problems with the A3.On the Trans. Brake it only stalls up to 3k so I know the convertor is a bit tight.I had a 4500 stall and I was getting 1.71 60ft times but I would lose 3mph in the 1/8.So I guess now I am going to go with a 3600-3800 stall maybe.

Re: New Best
Now I understand!
What I don't understand is why you don't have a better 60' if you have a 3.42 gear even with 28" tall tires. You have more hp than I do although my car weighs slightly less than yours. What rpm does your dyno show peak torque, converter locked? You want your converter to stall 500 rpm below peak torque.
I ran a 1.54 60' but only 115.74 mph. Get everything right and you should 60' a little better than my car. I have a PI 3600 stall with a 3.23 gear. I have a whole lot less cam than you. 218/218, .528 lift.
I think the problem is in your converter stall rpm or you have your cam timed wrong resulting in too high peak torque.

Re: New Best
What does the cam manufacturer specify for peak torque? Where does peak hp occur as compared to the manufacturer specs? That would give us an estimate on peak torque in your set up.
You got to know where peak torque occurs with converter locked or you are guessing. In your case without a locking converter we might be able to guess close if you know the advance ground into the cam, where you have it installed along with all the other specs. Do you have the cam card?
