Default Trying to get this 6 speed car to hook

Looking for suggestions to get My car to hook off the line.
Mods:
95 trans am
175 shot comes in at 3000 rpm
headers
3.23 gears, Other rear broke.
6 speed
2 step
Bmr Adj Torque arm set at -3
Lower control arm relo brackets
Air bag in the right coil.
Car has never cut better then a 2.1 60ft
Tires are 275/40-17 with vht track bite
or can be my Hoosier 275/50-15 quick time (not the pros)
car will either spin hard if launched to high or bog if launched to low. 2500 two step spins the least amount then catches and bogs. Car mph's over 118 it just launches like ***.

no offense, but you don't want a car to squat when it launches.

what pressure are the hoosiers at?

whats your launch RPM?

what clutch?

you side stepping or slipping it?

I'll agree to some extent. The rear needs to squat a little for weight transfer just as the front needs to lift to some extent. I mean the rear doesn't need to drop 8 inches but it does need to squat some.

I also agree we need mor einfo on your setup.

Hoosiers were run at a range from 35 psi down to 13. I have launched anywhere from 1500 rpm dump (spun) off the two step, to 4500 off the two step slipping. Clutch is a spec stage 2+ grabs hard. I have been driving this car for 3 years from when it was stock till now, and just cant seem to get its launch down. Car weighs 3415 with no gas in it and me out i weigh 155. I'm thinking it need shocks front and back and more gear with a taller tire 27"-28". Tire wise I'm thinking a ET drag

Your car is spinning because you're running a junk tire and not leaving at the right rpm and a few other things.

A car does not need to squat at all to transfer weight, a lot of cars will actually rise when the car plants the tires. It all depends where the instant center is located compared to the distribution of the cars weight, hight and length wise.

If you're on a stock rear end it's going to break when it hooks hard. #1 get a better rear end, then get the better tire and adjustable shocks. It won't do you any good to tell you buy a slick then drop the clutch at 6,000 if it is just going to break your rear end, which it will if it is stock.

After you get a rear end you'll want to start leaving with more rpm, trying to leave at 2,500 and then add a **** load of torque in a split second from nitrous isn't going to be easy on the tire or very consistent. If you do get a rear end get a 9" it'll take stick launches better.

When you do have a better rear end I would run a stiff sidewall slick or radial slick. They work good with stick cars. I would also run a 26", 27 or 28 will be too tall with a 3.23 and you'll be under where you need to be rpm wise at the top end. Either way 3.23 isn't the right gear for your combo.

Thanks for all the advice i appreciate it. And are front shock more important then rears, cause i can afford some rears but not both this season.
