So,I would drop about 25 pounds getting rid of my SS hood,sounds good.

I think you can see the edge and how the fiberglass resin looks. Almost like a bead of glue around the edge. I think VFN could have done a little better. It is very noticable with the hood open and not so bad closed. I'm sure if I took it to a body shop that specializes in fiberglass they could make it look better. probably at extra cost.

As best I could weight the difference in my stock (not SS) 98 Camaro hood and the VHN, I removed 26 pounds. About 25.5 after painting.

One note of mention. I only use one hood shock now. Another pound of savings. With both it raises too fast! Takes quite a bit more effort to close the hood too. That's a pretty strong spring in the latch. It was designed for the extra weight of the factory hood.

VFN SS 3 INCH HOOD THAT BOLTS ON FOR A WEIGHT SAVINGS OF AROUND 27 POUNDS. IT HAS BEEN FINE FOR ME THUS FAR.
