Tire Height ???????????? I have a 99 TA ,A4,3600 stall,4:10 gear ! Will a 28" tall tire work great for me,or be to tall ? Roughly 400 HP, NA,sometimes spray,but will a 28" be to tall for me on motor ?
I would try both and run a back to back comparison between the two. I know for sure if you're spraying, you will need to run 28's. I run MT 325/50's on spray-check out vid below-first time out on spray. Next time out at the track, I will bring a set of 26's and see what it does on motor.
For my car 28s were not tall enough w/4.10s, I was trapping at 7000 RPM - way too much for my stock bottom end. Went to 3.50s & now trapping at 6200. 3.73s probably would be perfect for my setup.

I am now running a MT 275/40/17 its supposed to be a 26",but measures not quite 25". Not sure the RPM at the quarter,but on motor 108 and on spray 118MPH ,definetely into overdrive-4th gear ! Aftermarket heads and mods are coming soon ! But the problem isthat on the street ,just on motor it spins through 1st and most of the way through 2nd ,and i want to be able to spray on the street and hook much less on motor !
