Default Should I take this bet?

See sig for my mods and times. My last pass was a 13.1 @ 106 but I figured out it was running on the low octane tables and I was revving it a little too high, I think thats why my mph was down some. I also was running bald azz tires getting me 2.1-2.4 60' times. I have the timing issue and the shift points fixed and can borrow a set of M/T drag radials. I was just talking to some friends at lunch saying I think I could hit a 12.0 this Friday if I hook up my 100 shot and run the DRs. One of my friends didn't think it would happen and wants to bet me a bottle of Kettle One on me not being able to run 12.0s. Do you guys think thats possible or reasonable? Picking up 1.1 seconds from where I am at with the addition of a 100 shot and drag radials? I am confident I can get it down to 1.7x 60' times which I figure should get me at least 12.80s, then 8 tenths should be no big problem for a 100 shot. Right?

I can drive it just fine, thats not the problem, I have been drag racing for nearly 10 years now. The problem has been my tires. I have ran 1.9 60' times and 12 sec 1/4 mile times in my 91 Lumina on street tires, but the tires on the Camaro are so worthless I can't seem to get better than a 2.07. I've also ran 100s of pounds of nitrous thru other engines, just haven't hook it up on this car yet. Basically I am confident in my ability to get it to hook good and to get the full potential out of the 100 shot, I am just wondering if that is enough to get me a 12.0.

And yes, my friend said he'd bet me a bottle of Kettle One Vodka that I couldn't manage at least a 12.0999

I know guys with nothing but that verter and bolt-ons running 12.1X w/ 1.60 60's. With 100 shot .. it's a done deal! I'd expect <11.7X's with that size N20 though.

13.1 @ 106. That's not bad time for that mph.

I took tomorrow off work cause I was thinking about doing it anyway and this just gives me more of a reason, lol. Tuned on the car some tonight, running full 28* of timing with no KR. Tomorrow I need to change the oil, then drop some tr6s in it and hook up the NAWZ! As far as bench racing goes, even a 1.80 60' should get me a 12.5x, but being realistic knowing the weather is probably gonna suck and the track won't be perfect, I'm just hoping for 12.8s N/A and 12.0s on the 100 shot. Would be nice to see an 11 but I guess we'll just have to see what really happens. Alls I know is I'll drink the shiv out of that Kettle One! BTW this dude drives a fox body mustang and a newer lightning.

It should be no problem for the 12.0. If you can hook the DR's with that 100 shot, should be good for about a sec off your NA time.

I'm guessing a 12.3 unless you spent some time really figuring out the car.

I can get a Lumina to run 12.50s but I can't get a mostly stock LS1 Camaro figured out.

Honestly the biggest limiting factor here will be the weather and track conditions. I can only do so much on a non-prepped track with 95* weather and a 4000' density altitude.

I'm just messin' with you, should be right around there. Car should run 12.5-12.7 with your mods and DR's, so 100 shot should pick the car up 7-10 tenths depending on what happens. What is your local track?

My local track is Kansas International Dragway: http://www.kidragway.com

Last night we were sitting at about 3200-3500 ft DA and lets just say I was enjoying my free bottle of Kettle One Vodka!

Hows 12.8 on the motor and 11.71 @ 118 on a 100 shot sound?

Congrats on the win! She's got more. It would be a really good idea to have her tuned to run with the N20 though.

Your 60' still looks light for that verter, even off the gas ... what gears do you have? Any wheels spin? Stock susp.?

You being a bolt-on M6 is even more impressive to me though. You'll be giving Sammy a run for his money once you get your cam

Getting it properly tuned before I do nitrous again for sure. It ran solid and w/o issue but I prefer to have that piece of mind. Thats why I only made those 2 nitrous passes and left it at that. No tire spin at all, 3.23 gears and stock suspension. The 60' is a little weak IMO and I'm not entirely sure why. One thing is that I power braked it up to about 2300-2500 which I later thought might be loading the converter up some and not allowing it to flash as high as if I stalled it to say 1300-1500, but I dunno, just something to play with. There was someone taking video who is going to get me a DVD of the runs.

Flash the converter off about 1000 rpm, just enough so there's air running thru the TB so it will react quickly with no stall from the throttle being slammed open.

The gears are killing it, 3.42's or 3.73's would make a world of difference
