Battery Relo and CCA?

Default Battery Relo and CCA?

For those of you relocating your battery and doing it NHRA legal, sealed box, what battery are you using and what it the CCA? My concern with the relo is that it will need a substancial amount more CCA to effectivly start the car, true?

Really what Im asking for it there a sealed box that will fit the optima red-top, the factory replacement optima, that can fit in the spare tire well. So far i have found nothing that will fit. Would a "custom" box built by me be sufficient(legal) if it is sealed with weatherstripping and the metal was the correct thickness?

I used i cheap exide battery from the part store, i think the cca's on it were 565.

I plan on using my red optima, I bought just the Summit "NHRA Approved box"

The cables or 0 or 1 gauge, so you wont have a problem with CCA's

We are in the middle of relocating a battery in the trunk of a formula! we used a optima red top its cca is 720..

here is my issue now, I cannot seem to find a batt box that will fit in the tire well so.....has anyone made a "table" for the batt box to sit on? What I mean is rather than "sinking" the battery down in the tire well build a tray for the batt/box to sit, so that it can still be placed behind the interior panel, and also I can retain my t-top storage. Any thoughts? If I need to post pics because Im confusing you all I will.....just let me know...
