Default Question about AFCOs?

I was looking at the AFCO website and was wondering which shock (part number?) i would use for a 2000 camaro for front and rears? I need a drag race, dual adjustable shock. Also what spring rate would i use? This car is full weight, manually shifted, full UMI suspension, on 28X10.5S ET DRAGs.

How do the front AFCO's mount to the stock top mounts that bolt to the chassis? Is there a special mount that i can buy?

Some people talk about the rear AFCOs needing to be converted to coilovers? Is this true? I would like to retain the stock spring and shock set-up in the rear..

HOw does these handle on the street after they are adjusted for street use instead of drag? Thanks

Call Brain (Madman) and he can get you the correct shocks and install parts and answer any questions you have. He will be able to set you up with the correct spring rate also.

You do not have to swap to coil overs on the rear to run afcos. I run my afcos with stock springs in the rear.

the front da's are a 3870f. the rear da's are a 3870r. the rear shocks are compatible to be coil-over but do not come with the hardware to do so. it would be a seperate spring mounting kit. the front shocks come with a f-body dedicated clevis mount kit that requires no fab work to install. the valving on these shocks will have plenty of range for you to make the correct adjustments for street driving as well as drag strip use.
i am a direct dealer for AFCO... call me or pm for a quote.

Does anybody have any pictures of the front mounting system? So if i order the 3870F from Afco, it would come with the F-Body mounting hardware? What are the advantages of coilovering the rear aside from height adjustment? Someone told me AFCOs would not last long on the street, is this true? This car is a street car, that will see a lot of street miles, street racing, and track time as well. Thanks, i will be giving you both a call soon.

Heres the top mount. I dont use coil overs in the rear. I use the factory mounting for the shock and spring. I also have custom valving for these shocks to make them more adjustable for street or strip. give me a call and I can walk you thru everything you need.

I'm going to be needing some Afco's before too long, my car is a total street car that will see the track every now and then, mostly just the street. Do I need to do the Afco's all the way around or just the front of back??
Also how user friendly are they to adjust, does it take long??
Thanks Guys,
BTW Eric how's my rear end coming, Ben Charles?
