how much lighter is a firebird vs. transam same year ect.?

It all depends on options butt he average is around 100# or so, some are way more some less. The T/A normally had leather seats, and most of the time power adjustable leather seats, a heavier wing, and the ground efects, fog lights and etc. outside of those they were pretty similar depending on option packages...

the reason I ask I'm building a race car and it's a TransAm I know it wont be much but I was thinking about putting the Firebird hatch and taking the ground effects to be as lite as possible

Plus it is also in the rear, so unless you are planning on making it a stripped out racer, don't worry too much, besides if it gets fast enough there will be no need for a stock hatch...

The hatch is 15lbs difference.

The ground effects have a bunch of holes in the side and will take some bodywork, they weigh about 5lbs each. The rear bumper cover is about 5lbs more as well.

I was going to swap over to firebird front and rear bumpers and ditch the side skirts but the weight really want worth it, I was going to do it for looks mostly but never did it after took one of those skirts off and seen all the those holes
