How much gear????
How much gear???? Here's what I have:
1999 Z28 3200lbs with me in it
347 H/C/I/ stages of N20, 150 off the line, 250 60' out.
Powerglide W/ very tight N20 converter probably around 32-3400
9" W/3:55's
325-50-15's
7200 RPM's max
I Ran 9.7's with my old setup, spraying a 200 shot and I had a th400 with a 3800 stall. It was blowing through the converter really bad so I sent it back. I also put a powerglide in it after the re stall. Now the car needs more gear in a bad way. My question is: How much bigger can I go? I have had people tell me that I'll be ok with 4:30's and I've had others say that 4:10's would be too much. The car should be good for some LOW 9's at around 145 or so.
I could care less how the car performs on motor, it is a nitrous car so keep that in mind. The car made 711rwhp on one stage on juice, it should be somewhere around 800-825 with both stages going.
Any help will be appreciated.

145 was just a guesstimate. I trap mid to high 13X's while going mid-high 9's so I figured 145 would be safe.
I have twisted the motor to 7600 so if it's close at the finish line I'll be ok.
What do you think the optimal gear would be for my car?

a 3.89 will give you MPH room to grow. Outside of that it is either spin higher or go to a taller tire.

I've been hitting it with 300 all on one stage, I put the plate kit on it so that I can spray more. I'm gonna launch on 150 and hit it with another 250 about 60' out.
A good friend of mine has a 4:11 I'm gonna try, if it's too much I'll go with a 3:90 or 3:73

4.10 sounds like too much for a 300 shot, but you could pm 'tuff' he did I think run 4.10's, T400, 300 shot, and 28x10.5's and went 9.4x@144mph in his TA with stock cubes.

If a 4:10 will put me at 7200 RPM's at 145 MPH then I should be fine. I don't care to take it to 7400 or so if I have to. I will be trying 4:10's at a race in early Sept. I'll post up the results. If everything goes well hopefully I'll be posting up a new stock cube nitrous record.
