Question Rim width Question

I feel like a total skull for asking this question. The people I normally ask are unavalible but I am doing some research for winter time mods.

Up front, I have done searching here, through the FAQ's and in the Wheels section as well as Google, all had some good info but not quite what I am looking for.

I do understand how to measure back space and what it generally means but I do not know how it relates to a given width of a rim in relation to FBody chassis. Also whether clearencing will be needed to the body.

I am assuming a 8" wide rim shouldnt need really anything given that stock is that size.

I was possibly considering a 10" wide rim, does this require surgury, I have a Moser rear with stock length studs and prefer not to change since I do drive around with stock rims and I dont want it to look goofy.

What is considered proper BS for a 8" and 10 " rim and will it need an additional spacer.

as for the tire I will be running a 26" slick, I do not want a taller tire at this time its not needed.

My main goal is for the rim to look correct, i.e. not stick out and look goofy, and fit correctly in the wheel well. Also to obtain the widest tire, that could be used with out fender rolling or MAJOR inner well modding, maybe a BFG and removing/grinding the bump stops.

As per this chart, I think Id be looking at either..... one of the 3 26" tall slicks, the car weighs as is 3950 with me, but I plan on putting Convo Pros or some lighter weight rim, over my stock 00 WS.6 rim, and also wondered if I should go with a "S" tire vs, a less stiff walled tire.

Opinions other then "Using the Search Button" is appreciated.

THanks

Oh, P.S. any opinion on rim Choices would be helpful.

Looking at....

Welds ( i know, needs grinding, maybe longer studs)
Centerline Convo Pros
Billet Specialites (dunno on fitment)
Greg Weld rims ( i know they are still having fitment issues)
Jeg's Pro star copies.

The main choice is to make it light and for track use only.

Thanks!

in the Wheels and Tires section.....

In the Drag Race, its this Link....

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/963691-drag-racing-tire-faq.html

Which is your info, BUT

https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/120716-wheels-tires-everything-you-should-need-know-here-must-read.html

is Xsta Z 28's post that has apparently better info.

Is this info in your 2 above mentioned post?? didnt see them and possibly I skimmed over Xsta due to yours being the same info in 2 different forum places.

Not to say, try harder to post it correctly but Specifically your drag tire FAQ in the wheels section doesnt have this.
