I hate to disagree but I have cut 3 perfect .500 lights this year as a rookie points racer, leaving at 2,500 as well as over 18 double 0 at last count. I think everyone should put in just a little more effort in hesitating or anticipating the light accordingly for the best resullts all around so they can still leave at the optimal rpm. Not lower the stall speed so they can still jump the gun on the tree. If you want a good light, do one thing... PRACTICE! And do it over and over and never stop....

If your going for all out ET then flashing the converter is what you do, aka: just nail it.
If your trying to bracket race, then start off leaving at +/- 1000 rpm stall on the last yellow and then adjust the stall for launch up or down depending on what you want the reaction time to do. For example: if .500 is a perfect reaction time and your cutting .620 @ 1000 rpm, then you should prob step up to 1500 rpm stall and leave at the same spot on the tree and get a better reaction time(closer to .500). Once you get below .550's it's time to start adjusting air pressure and suspension.

Most bolt ons, Vigilante 3600(4000 in reality), !front sway bar, 100% stock suspension, minor weight reduction car on 16" MT ET street Radials

best method for me was hold rpms right around 1100-1300 and mash it on green.

Any lower or higher and it wouldn't 60" as nice or as consistantly
