using the spare tires for skinnies ?
this got me to think though , could a quality aftermarket tire be mounted on the spare rim in order to make a hood fab pair of skinnies ? or is the spare's rim also only good for a few miles and mph ?

The wheel should be strong enough to handle it but I really dont think your gona save much weight being steel vs the stock aluminum 8in wheels so I dont really see the point other than saving some rotational weight. Weld wheels really arent that much if your gona invest in some skinny drag tires anyway.

They were designed as low-speed temp replacements to get you to a repair facility.
Nothing more.
I doubt most techs would even let you by with those on your car.
glad to hear i am not the only one to see this and like said i believe this to be dangerous and would not reccommend anyone to do .
no intentions on my part to try or attempt i was just curious as to if it was really beneficial or possible to do . actually seeing it seems desperate as if it was the last trick up the sleeve . that said i was not sure if it was really a trick and led me to ponder what kind of tires were actually being used .
Theres no reason it wouldn't work. Those wheels are probably twice as strong as a Bogart front runner. Remember, they were designed to be used on public highways, even if for only 50 miles thats rougher than any track I've been to.
That being said, I doubt they are very light. I'm sure they are lighter than stock though....
