Front spring questions w/ QA1's & BBC
I have the single adjustable coil-over QA1's with the 15FB325 springs in a BBC equipped Camaro. The problem is that the front is hard as a rock and slams to the ground after a wheelie, regardless of shock setting.
I had the 15FB275's on the car and they were too soft, and on the other end of the spectrum, QA1 does not go any higher than the 325's on the F-body springs.
Are there any other brand of springs that will work? Any suggestions on rates to try? The car is upwards of 3450-3500# and I would have to guess about 60% of that weight is on the nose.

I'm at 3400 lbs, 55/45 F/R weight distribution and use the 300lb generation F springs and really dont bottom the car out even on bigger wheelstands and I'm nose heavy with a blower and intercooler well forward of the front wheels. I did make some rubber bumpers in the shock to take a lot of the hit on hard landings, they dont affect anything and really take up the shock of a hard landing nicely.

I'd advise goin with some double adjustable AFCO shocks w/ the 325 springs, travel limiters, and our Save Your *** Bars. In the least, go with some travel limiters to keep the front end tied to the ground and the Save Your *** Bars to keep the damage minimal if you do wheel stand. Call me at the shop if you're interested, and i'll get you some prices. 225-673-3533

I do have the travel limiters, but I blow the tires off when I tighten them down. The fabricated core support acts as a SYA bar since we positioned so that it would hit before my hedders, oil pan, steering, etc...
I do think the AFCO's would be a good winter upgrade; are those better than the QA1's?
Would double adjustables outback be a good investment as well?

x2. I'd definately go with the DA AFCO's. You have so much more in the way of fine tuning your shock settings. The valving is spot on with these shocks. Really get your money's worth out of the AFCO's. When you're ready, give me a call. I'll get you prices on everything and get you taken care of.
