Default triangulated 4link good for 8 seconds?

i am going to try to get my impala in the 8s but i wonder if that suspension will get the power to the ground efficiently. i dont have any good shocks but i was thinking some qa1s and it has the bmr extended upper and lower control arms. or would it be worth the effort to install a complete chris alston 4-link backhalf? ( i already have it) any comments or opinions will be appricated.

I have Impys running well into the 9s with the stock style 4 link. It works great.

I build my own control arms and I use AFCO shocks.

Stock suspension in the 8s would be way cooler than with a 4 link.
