Default 02 Ss Suspension Help

I will start by saying a little about the car.Its a 02 ss bracket car. It has a moser 12 bolt and turbo 350,BMR lca's,bmr torque arm mounted on the crossmember,QA1's on the front. I have been having trouble getting the car to hook up properly on the gas.I have been hitting it with a 150 wet shot off the line and it will half way hook sometimes but usually spins through the 60'. I was just wanting some input on tire size or suspension setup. It has -2 pinion angle, lca's have a backward rake to them. It has 26" 11.50 hoosiers on it with a 4.30 gear. It still has the stock shocks on it so thats may be part of the problem too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, do you have lower control arm relocation brackets? If you do try using the middle hole instead of the bottom. If not i would suggest a set we have the weld on version for $79.95.

you need relocation brackets, a good drag racing swaybar from BMR or Wolfe... I have my brackets on teh middle hole. get the weld on ones not the bolt on..... Get some adjustable LCA's so you can make sure the rearend is square in the car....

Biggest thing is you need shocks bad.... I have double adjustable Varishocks.... just a shock change and a tire swap to true ET drags took my car from spinning to putting it on the bumper....

If you can't afford DA shocks at the very least buy single adj QA1's..... start at 6 from full soft and start stiffening them until the car hooks... What are you running your slicks at psi-wise????? Take em down to 11 or so..... let her rip.....

All those mods that you need to do add up to about 1500-2000 bucks with labor.... get back to work...

and i don't know what you mean by "backward rake" of your LCA's but if your lca's are going UPWARD from the front to the back that is BAD!!!! You want them AT LEAST level if not going down..... why relo brackets work. Mine are slightly going down when the car is at ride height....

I'd go with some DA AFCO's front and rear after gettin the relocation brackets. They are a little pricey, but they are the best bang for your buck. They're the best shock out there for fine tuning on your shock settings. If you interested in a set, give me a call at the shop. Phone number is in my sig.

Default Sway Bar

Yeah i forgot to add i do have the BMR extreme sway bar also.I guess shocks and relocation brackets may be the key.I have some stock replacement shocks, you think they may help some till i can get some adj. ones?? The shocks that are on there are the original ones with 90,000 miles on them.

They will definately be better than the original shocks, as far as helpin you hook, i doubt it. When you're ready, give me a holler for some AFCOs

1.40 spinning is hauling......

You also have to remember though that some spin is to be expected..... even pro stock cars do it..... but the tire recovers... If you're cutting 1.40 spinning then the spin isn't as bad as you think it is....

cuz think about it, it's propelling your 3300+ lb vehicle to the 60' laser in 1.4 seconds..... so there is some traction on the ground.....

there is a difference between rotating the slicks and still accelerating and completely blowing the tires off....

You may need to get more aggressive with the TQ arm angle

i'm thinking his lca angle could use some downward slope towards the rearend and his shocks completely blow....

the shock controls what the tire does...... My DA's on the rear COMPLETELY changed how my car acted at the track..... best mod suspension wise i've ever done.... Single adj can kiss my a$$......

VARISHOCK DA'S dumdumdum!!!!!!
