Greg Welds are cast, Champions are forged.

Just like you don't want a cast crank or pistons, you don't want cast racing wheels.

Cast wheels are cheap to make and there is no way to control their grain structure. Also they are prone to defects, such as inclusions, voids, porosity, etc...

Forgings get "preferred orientation" of the grain structure, making them stronger and more durable.

This design looks great with a reasonable cost though appears not to have a 7.5" backspacing for the rears for us stock axle length guys. Whoever has a set on their LS1 car let us know the brake clearances.

I would say Convo Pro= Smokey and The Bandit Firebird. It is old, kind of outdated, but still a bad ride.

Greg Weld's are like an old Datsun. Designed to be slow, built in a foreign country, but some "tuner" is bound and determined to make them fast.

Champions are fine as a 'Vette. Upper end looks and performance, relatively affordable price.

Meh. I guess my Greg Welds/Prostars are fine for a 19 year olds 10 second budget.

These look great and seem to be super high quality. I think they are crazy heavy though.

15 lb range for a non beadlock is the same as a pro star or billet street lite. High end rears are 10 lb. Add a beadlock and you are at 20. Double beadlock puts you at 25.
Dont get me wrong, I'm considering these. Just wish they were lighter.

I'd like to see a 15x12 rear on a 6 inch backspace double beadlock come in at about 20 to 22 lbs, at that weight I'd feel they're pretty light.

If they're 25 that's still o.k, heavier then I'd like but depending on the price compared to other comparable wheels that are out there I'll live with it.

Now if they were 35 lbs for the above size that would be way too much and would stop me from buying them.

yeah i wish they were a little lighter too but they arent bad. plus i just had prostars so these are about the same. I like the cost. Wish i could justify spending the extra $300-400 to get beadlocks though. They look bad ***!

The beadlocks do a couple things. #1 the wheel is a TON stronger with them. #2, you can mount the tires with a double beadlock wheel youself, and never worry about some idiot tire monkey bending your rim or gashing it up on ya, like what happened to my bogarts.

Honestly I'm probably gonna end up going with a set of bogart welded r/t's and order them with double beadlocks on them right from bogart, this way they match my front rims. At this point it will be cheaper to get another set of bogart rears that match the fronts and just get them with the beadlocks on then it would be to buy another complete set of wheels.

I like the way mine look, it's just the beadlock and a 15x12 that I'm after.

I am seriously thinking about getting a set of these in 15x12 with a single beadlock for my 93. They are priced really nice and look pretty good to boot. I wish I could have gotten in on Summit giving away their G. Weld stock. They had 15x12 of the non star style wheel for $99.95 each.
