Default brake stall ? please help

I have a lid, cutout, and the Sy3500 and 3.73 combo with 245/50/16 DR's. I'm having absolutely no problem hooking...which is a good thing...kind of.

My best so far is a 1.911 60 foot time. This combo is capable of much more but I can't stall over 2200 rpm before my back brakes give. I have new rotors and hawk hps pads on all 4 wheels. Is this unusual, do I need some type of proportioning valve for my brakes to bias more pressure to the rear? Anyone please help me out here...especially people with this combo. Did anyone experience this same thing? Thanks.

You should be pulling solid 1.7s with that gear and converter...unless your car is especially heavy or something. I had the same combo and pulled a best of 1.71.

You might consider a harder hitting converter. The SY3500 is as soft as they come. It kinda makes having 3.73s pointless.

Colonel called it in the 1.7x range on Nittos. I found it to work best from 1100 and then just hammer it from there. Break stalling that converter simply defeats the benefits of the 1.61 STR on your DRs. Just heat the DRs up hammer it on the second yellow.

Colonel, what rpms did you brake stall to when you had this combo? Is my car brake stalling high enough? I would be happy with this combo if I could pull a 1.7. I like this set-up for the street, since this is where I do most of my driving.

Edit: By the way, the car isn't a pig, it's stock weight (2000 Z28, T-tops) and i weigh 135lbs.

2001-WS6, I'll try it from 1100 next time to see how that works. I did a search and from what I saw, Yank converters like to be stalled up as high as possible. Did you stall at a 1100 before the 422 was put in?

B Pay, it's been a long time ago but I think maybe I flashed it from about 1200-1500. Like I said, it's been a long time ago. Heck, maybe it was 2300.

Some converters like to be brake stalled to the max, some like it from just above idle, some like it somewhere in between. It's something you just have to experiment with when you get a new converter.

Yep, at 1100 and flash with Stage 2 heads and cam I used to routinly cut 1.7xxs on Nittos. On the motor with slicks now I cut 1.62s and 1.48s with the 100 shot. Still using the simple 1100 and hammer it.

Well I took yours and others advice and tried every way imaginable. My best 60 foot was a 1.881. This was while flashing at idle. Still no spin. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

I talked to Yank and they told me to stall it up to 3300. The problem is I can only stall up to 2200 before my rear brakes give. They told me to change my rear pads to a softer compound and make sure they were bled. I'm guessing I'll launch a lot harder if i could stall it up that high. Hopefully this will do the trick. I can't believe no one else has had an issue like this for this converter.

I have a TCS with a 2.5 STR. I don't stall mine high. I find that it cuts 1.7's on Nitto's at just above an idle. I come up to about 1000-1200rpms, just enough to "tighten" the driveline. (Trying not to shock it) When the last yellow lights, I mash the go pedal to the floor and hang on. I have tried to stall it higher, only to cut a worse 60', which is not due to wheel spin.
