nope, sounds like a sewing machine. nothing out of the ordinary.

Do you know what you set the preload on your lifters to? To me it looks like your pushrods are not long enough, usually you see a longer pushrod on a setup like that. If the preload is incorrect on the lifters you can definately leave power and performance on the table.

Ls7 lifter preload should be between .040-.060.

i went with the texas speed combo,. this is the same setup they used. the MS4 loves compression.

As Pat G mentioned you pushrods may be too short. The MS4 has an LSK lobe for the intake doesnt it? My setup required 7.450 pushrods with .080 preload on lsk lobes. I know you have milled heads but i doubt they were milled THAT much. I cant imagine you are getting 250psi compression either with that cam I'm only seeing in the 160s with mine. Maybe you are seeing that high of compression because your valves are staying closed longer from your short pushrods?

To get to 58cc the heads would have been milled ~.025. FWIW with the specs you posted, your compression is 11.25:1 assuming .010 out of the hole. If they ran your piston at zero deck, its closer to 11.0:1.

7.350" should be near perfect for your engine, as it was for mine. I'm running the exact same setup, same heads milled to 59cc, .040" gasket, and MS4 cam. With the LS1 lifters the 7.350" pushrods were too short, and with the LS7 lifters were dead on.

245psi seems awfully high, almost impossibly high. All mine were right around 190-200 psi on a tight shortblock.

His compression guage is most likely not accurate. No 2 ever read the same anyway.

Sounds like the cam is off a tooth. That would explain the high tourque and compression numbers.

I would think the gauge is reading high. You dont just get more compression than around 200 psi. If the engine is at TDC and valves are sealed well, thats around what you get.

Original poster: What do your plugs look like? Can you post some good pics, show what they look like with threads and take a few with them cut off. I dont give a **** what the dyno A/F shows. See what your plugs shows. I have to wonder if you may have a consistant voltage drop and are getting low spark. Your tune alone is not giving up that much power WOT.

The gauge is definatly reading high. But I doubt it is off by a factor of 2. This has all the signs of a cam that is off a tooth.

how could the cam be off a tooth, if its making peak power where it should? 367hp at ~6600RPM IIRC.

Good Point. Where is the torque peak?

245 psi is very high for cranking compression. In my opinion it is too high for 93 octane. Your tuner was probably limited in the amount of timing he was able to run. Put VP 109 in it and re-dyno, it should make a huge difference.

This may help (you feel better anyway) as I have a similar setup and made only 405rwhp with a manual. I have 61cc Patriot LS6 heads and 11.5:1 comp ratio, MS4, Vic Jr intake, headers, internals, stock rockers and Caddy racing lifters. Its not the first time I've heard of this hp with this cam and setup.
