I did not say who it was.. Carl you exposed yourself.. I did not know you were broke either. You could have easily asked for help on our local board instead of having to sell all your stuff.. I would have gladly chipped in to help out a brother.. If you want me to delete this post I will..

Carl for where you're at right now, The numbers are good.

Better Tune, weather and tweaking and you will be where you want to be.

Next time you're at the shop, talk to Keefer, we picked up more than you'd think going from Flowmasters to Dynomax's...
Keefer?? LOL

I dont want to use the Bullets. I got the Flowmasters because of the way they sound. I also have the one chamber race mufflers. There isnt much inside them Youll hear my car sometime and agree hehe

dynos dont correct? just representin FLORIDA here guys. but that is most likely the tune. i bet your midrange is soft too compared to the big LGM graphs. his cars are making well over 410+ rwtq too. that cam plain and simple works. i think the air we have here in south florida friggin rocks. try +4000 DA in the midwest where i lived for a while! and dont talk about mountain air. your 420+ rwhp is great for a mail order tune through full exhaust. most of th ebig boys are open header and tuned FOR THE OPEN EXHAUST but if you look or ask around, they made about 10 rwhp less or so with the reg tune for normal exhaust (even true duals). i just dont buy the good tx air explaination. it either spiked the dyno or not and is corrected to STD or not. get a tune to get your tq where it should be (over 400 rwtq, tune for dyno (or open header-either way it is ghey to me unless you run open header all the time), and spike it on the end of the dyno run and bam, you will have your 450 rwhp graph. otherwise, go whoop some street cars' ***** and enjoy!

Low factory numbers problem should "go away" when you do heads, cam, and a new tune. You are getting rid of any "bad" in the system.
I do not agree with this. My car probably only dyno'd 260-270 when stock, but after heads/cam/tuning, I only ended up with 357 (dynojet). The gain was about 80rwhp, but it was no where near the 100+rwhp gains alot of other guys get.

GARY! we need to get you to RMS and have that thing tuned! 357 rwhp isnt gonna get it with a head and cam combo. there are some bugs in there that needs to be worked out. whose heads? what cam? 80 rwhp is great gain, but the scale is off. lets get ya worked out. mark will take care of you.

John, I wish it were that easy. Mark did the whole install for me, and he was at a loss as well. We just chalked it up to the cats and a somewhat restrictive B&B exhaust.

dynos mean ****. i dynoed 385 with my setup...that was through an aluminum ds and 10 bolt. i ran the times above with a steel ds and 12 bolt. ill bet i dyno 36x now.

you need to have after and before dynos to compare. and most importantly- track times! who cares about dyno numbers.

Dyno #'s mean squat as to a packages potential. Take it to the track. My 3 year old H/C package barely makes 390 rwhp behind a Th400, 12 bolt w/3.73's and ET Streets. Big deal. BUT, it is a 3700lb pig and went 11.53 @117mph.
Use the dyno to tune the car then throw the graphs in the garbage and hit the track.

Vince, don't make me cap you in the knee caps this year at the Shootout.

Everyone keeps saying to take it to the track.. The track shows the cars potential as a whole. Like Tim above.. TH400, probably a good stall, 12 bolt, 3.73s, ET streets... Track material. I have a street car. No cage, no slicks, stock rear stock suspension. Dynos are important to tuning the motor. Thats what I was trying to accomplish.

Heres an email I got from the head porter:

Carl, I saw your dyno graph and it looks to me there is valve float going on,
I experienced it with a few other cars and talked to comp about it, It seems
that 987 springs come in batches, and the batches vary in quality. I have had
a few older 987's run on xer cams come back and the pressures be good and
recently with cams on xer lobes like the g5x2 the 987's come back with alot of
loss in tension. Basicly what I recommend is sending the heads back and I will
fit them with rev +.07 valves and 977 springs, this is the spring comp tells me
to use with any xer lobe now. I will have them picked up by ups and send them
back to you with new head gaskets and bolts, I will also give you a set of
push rods that will give you .06-.010 preload with the comp R's and stock
rockers. Let me know if there is any problems with you pulling the heads off, I know
it sucks and its alot of work but it will be worth the effort, sorry about
the situation with the 987 springs, sometimes a big company like comp can shrug
off a problem like that with out looking bad but it makes the small companies
look bad for there mistakes, the car should pull in the 440's even in the hot
florida air, If you want to have the tune checked first and make sure there is
no knock retard or other issues feel free and let me know if you want to
upgrade the springs

Now THAT is awesome!! I think this deserves to be known what shop it is...

Yeah 987's won't cut it on a G5x2 cam. Here's what a 234/242 looks like with 987s(Blue graph, ignore the red graph).
