actually the car went 12.7s @ 113.4 at the track in bowling green before the tune and it picked up 20rwhp and 24ft pds off the tune so thats almost a second faster than your guess

So the lsx engines are superior to the ltx ones . That doesn't mean the lt1(4,5) is not one heck of an engine with a lot of potential. Those numbers you referenced are not the norm from what I have seen. A decade of technology really helps a lot when it comes to producing HP. For instance, I was watching a NIssan commercial yesterday and thenew 370Z is putting out 332 hp form a 3.5l V6(I believe). With a couple grand in boltons, those number are not to hard to obtain.
I have a lot of respect for the C5 and those are great numbers especially for the higher miles on that car. Treat that vette well!

I like the green. I like the power. I like Corvettes!
The LS series is superior, by design. Nobody is saying bad things about the LT series, but it is inferior, again, by design.
I think the piont being made was, you're not at all likely to just bolt on a few parts(short of power adders) and see 330+rwhp from an LS1 powered F-body. Instead, you'll need something like ported heads, replacement heads, a new cam... But just external bolt ons? Not likely at all.
The numbers shown are the norm, and what you've seen is exactly what you're describing... technology being used to upgrade older equipment. But "normal" means, "how it was when originally made" in this case, obviously.
Btw, the 370Z gets its name from the engine size. 3.7L The former 350Z had a 3.5L. Those engines are real nice and make good power for their small size indeed, but they're also quite expensive.

Grn4fbody, now that is more like it...That may be a lil on the higher side, but most every guy through an M6 could crank out something in the 250s(if not higher) easy.
