Great #'s Scott! Hate to hear the tranny "**** the bed!" I bet that will make a stock 10 bolt beg for mercy! How many ring and pinions have you been through? Good luck with the setup!

BTW, The wife hates you as I have to buy more parts for the SS now! JK

Nice numbers gomer. Congrats on the new setup. Its a great cam and you will love it - believe me.

And yeah it would really suck to have ONLY 200+ lb-ft of torque below 2 grand :p I think thats plenty to get even the fattest of fbodies rolling from a stop light. And lets remember that with a cam - you are usually going to run a higher idle so that time from idle to 2K rpm is much shorter than stock to 2K rpm.
I run this same cam in my car with JPR S1 LS6 heads and it put down very competitve numbers. Oh and it drives around like a dream, and runs like a banshee at the upper RPMs.

LOL.. I know! After the car got stuck in 4th gear, I had to start it out in 4th every time to do my dyno runs. That really impressed the hell out of me... how it had enough low end to start out in 4th gear on the dyno like that with 3.42 gears And like you say, the way it PULLS.. OMG, it is unreal the way it just rushes to 6,500rpms.

The heads have a stock deck height but 59cc chambers.. I think it is right around 11.5:1
Actually its a little over 11:1 compression.. I think 11.1:1 actually

My set is on the way so I'm ready to try them out

Whats great about this setup is every set of heads & ever cam is the same. Anyone could order this same package Monday morning & I could have them shipping to them early this week! Thats one of the many advantages of CNC ported heads! No favorites everyone gets the best heads & the best price!

Gomer is the surging gone from the car down low now that the tune is correct? That ported maf was really hurting the car!

Yeah, it is much better.. drives just like stock now and isn't as rich when it idles. I haven't driven it much since the trans is screwed. I'm going to pull it out tomorrow night and let Tony go thru it. You guys just don't know how much I appreciate all the help and expert advice!!!!

Those arwe some great numbers. I wonder how they would do with a big reverse split cam? Any one try these heads yet with something like a TR230 or X1?

Wow. Must be nice to "try" PPS2 heads then jump to LS6/LQ9 style heads with a big cam. Trevor, see if you can figure out why my Predator won't let me turn past stock rev limiter. I'll be calling Diablosport Monday. I got a feeling that's killing my cam power band.

I'm on my third 10 bolt right now, this will just be my second trans. What setup did you end up doing on your car H/C wise? PM me if you don't want everybody to know.. I know how you like to be about your stuff!

Gomer, I know your going to hate me but there is a spike in that graph, while still very impressive and you should be very happy it looks like you made around 443hp, the graph is confusing with the 440 line running across the sheet and the 450 dash just above it, What I have seen is 59cc's is 11.3 to 1. please dont hate me but you cant include a spike as hp this is what throws people off when comparing graphs, Good luck with it glad to see your running strong

It's ok! I wondered why it took you so long to come in and make a negative comment, but I don't really mind.. cause I know your opinion means NOTHING to ANYONE on this board

Looks like round one will be just a TR224/112, followed by a 12 bolt. I know the 10 isn't gonna hold and just don't want to mess with it. Next year the car will be getting a set of Patriot heads though. That is if I can hold off the Corvette bug!

How much are those heads? I already have that cam and put down 401 rwhp. I just wanted to see how much those heads are for my future plans.

The heads are $1,795 outright! That is also with your choice of combustion chamber size: 59cc, 64cc, 68cc, and 72cc.

Feel free to give us a call when you're ready to get a set on order or if you have any questions.

Trevor

40 HP is a big gain for the swap when you started with PP 5.3 heads. Sure the cam is good for 10 - 15 HP but I'm surprised to see that much gain. Is the porting design improved on the LS6 style heads?

I will ship as soon as the valves come in,Hopefully monday.

This head design is very solid. In smaller cams it is worth atleast 10 rwhp over a 5.3 head.It only gets better with a larger cam or bigger CID.

Also, I DO NOT have an electric waterpump yet and I was spinning 17x11 rears. Another item of note is that on the first run my trans (which had been acting up) decided to hang in fourth gear.. so for the other dyno runs I started the car in fourth gear, so all the people that were saying the TSP cam doesn't have torque.. well I beg to differ. Also the dyno at walker is not a "high" dyno.. for example, right after I dyno'd Mitchell McCord dyno'd his 2002 Z06 with the RP motorsports Stage II H/C package.. his third pull made 426rwhp and 38xrwtq.. at RP a few month ago it made 440rwhp. The 918 springs didn't break and the cam peaked right at 6300rpm. I have the graph scanned, but cannot host it.. if someone can post it for me, please mail me at sculbert1@netzero.net and I'll mail it to you in the morning...I've had a long day and I'm going to bed now. I'd like to thank Blake Walker of Walker Dyno Tune, Terry from Patriot Performance, Jason and Trevor from TSP.. you guys made my dream of having a 450rwhp daily driver come true!!
THANKS!
Scott Culbert

What type of dyno did you make this much power on? Was it a dynojet or a mustang dyno?
