It doesn't take $120k to get to 700hp with an F-Body. That's why he says he isn't impressed. And an ls1 can gain that much with a simple heads/cam for half the price in parts.

Anyone can build a fast car a lot cheaper but the OP was simply showing how a modded ZR1 gained 160hp. Now take your modded ZR1 and see if the girls can tell the difference between it and a regular corvette
There are a lot of ignorant people who know little about the LSx world. I'm sure the average person would be more impressed with a zr1 vette than a 700hp fbody lol.

I hear ya bro. Let me throw this at ya. It may not take 120 K to get 700 rwhp out of an F-body, but you will spend an ungodly amount trying to get the F-body to stop, and handle like the new ZR1. Plus which car would you rather be in doing 200 ?? ZR1 or Fbody, I'll choose the ZR1.

He's not comparing a ZR1 to an F-Body.
I don't see any LS1 gaining 160+rwhp from a simple heads/cam.

Yes the Corvette is pure sex on wheels. Stock it would out-handle any of our cars and comes with more horsepower than our cars. But it also comes with a price. I am in no way completely disregarding the more than impressive power and capabilities of the Zr1. I am merely stating for the money you should get more.

I put it in perspective. For 120K you got equal brakes to an Enzo, acceleration or better then an enzo, and would most likely out run an Enzo, all for 120K vs what 600K ?? Makes the zo6 sound like a bargain.
With that being said I do see your point. The ZR1 doesn't quite offer the interior that you would expect to be found in a 100+K vehicle. I like the rest though.

I was kind of hoping for some bigger numbers as well. I'm not saying 700 rwhp isn't impressive, just saying that with increasing the boost, changing the cam, and freeing up the exhaust I'd expect some solid 700+ rwhp results. I think these motors with the same mods and a decent sized cam should be making 750-800 rwhp, but maybe I'm just optimistic. He shouldn't have to ice the intake to get it over the 700 mark with a cam, puley, and bolt-ons. If you search for "boost" in this sub-forum there are a bunch of LSX motors with less cubes and superchargers making more power. Apple to oranges I know but I think whatever cam the guy went with, it could've been better.
