JPR HVLD Stage 2 heads & custom cam dyno results !
Well guys I am here to testify that Joe's head & cam package puts down exactly what he says it does.
Both me and Vince drove all the way from Florida to have the heads and cam installed and I must admit that I was leary of what the final results would be.
We first dyno'd the way that I would actually drive it which is with no shortbelt and with the air filter in place. I also ran through full exhaust i.e no cutouts but I do have true duals with Spintechs so cutouts may not have helped me. I also have the stock 10 bolt with 3.42's (soon to be changed), a steel billet flywheel and the stock driveshaft as well to give you guys a better picture of the setup.
Anyways SAE I put down
450 rwhp and 405 rwtq
That was with no dyno tricks at all so I am very pleased with the results. Also the tq curve is pretty flat with me passing the 350 tq mark at 3200 rpm and hitting 400 tq at about 4800 rpm.
I hit the 400 rwhp mark at 5300 rpm and hit the 450 rwhp mark at about 6300,,,,, at 7k rpm I still have 430 rwhp so I will be shifting up high.
We did a couple runs with the shortbelt and no air filter and like this I put out 460hp and 413 tq SAE which is awesome.
All of the runs were made with a normal tune and normal gas so the timing and tuning are exactly the way that I will be driving it on the street. I must admit that I was skeptical but in the end Joe did back up exactly what he had said which was 450 rwhp with no tricks. I'll get pictures of the graphs probably over the weekend and I'll put them up after that for everybody to see. One thing I can say for sure is that Joe knows his stuff when it comes to cylinder heads. I was very happy to see no tricks on the dyno and I am very impressed with Joe's work on this head and cam package.
Thanks again Joe for putting together and coming through on an awesome package.
Now off to the Florida dyno to see if there is any truth to this different dyno's different numbers theory.

Cool! Great numbers!! How close are you to Norris Motorsports? I'd like to see what your car does on his dyno. From everything I've seen his dyno is probably one of the most conservative around.

Almost forgot to mention that this is on 10.8 : 1 compression. probably a little less actually cause of the valve reliefs and the heads which are the 5.7 liter ones were milled a tad less than .030
If things work out,, this Sat I will have the car dyno'd locally where alot of the other guys get their cars dyno'd around here. Norris is about 50 miles from here and is a tad to far for me to go but who knows what will end up happening.
We tried to work on Joe to get the cam specs out of him but he wants to keep them secret for now which is understandable due to the nature of this business. If I had to guess I would say that it is big but how big I have no idea.

good point jfm, maybe I should go to Norris
Honestly I already have plans to dyno at a shop in Tampa but I see no problem with going to Norris one day.

Congrats Mike.... With the JPR heads in my sig. I run 11.8's in a full weight WS6. And I only have S1 heads Joe's new head design is unbelievable. The power that they make is awesome. He's doing a set of 6 liter heads for my FI setup using his new port design. The car should be scarey fast when it's all said and done. Have fun. Take care.

Mike K, if you go to Norris I'd like to meet you up there, he's right down the road from me.
You'll probably dyno less cause we have very high humidity here and the air isn't the greatest right now, but who cares.
Now you need to bring your car to Orlando Speed World and see what she does!
Great numbers!

Re: JPR HVLD Stage 2 heads & custom cam dyno results !
I have been to Norris dyno and the dyno that Mike K. is going to this week and there is no difference.. I have already set up the appointment for the local dyno and I see no need to drive a further distance. Plus, Norris dyno is more than 50 miles from your house Mike K. We were about 50 miles away when my car broke down that day after leaving Norris Motorsports. Plus, I think a non LS1 tuners dyno would be better for this comparison.. The dyno we are going to is the same one 383LQ4SS uses for his dyno's.. Al is a moderator in the nitrous forum and he can vouch for the integrity of the dyno we are using..
