Are you refering to just the loss in compression, or quench as well?
I'm wanting to build a simular motoe with an lq4 bottom end and milled l92 heads. The compression should be a little over 10.0 to 1.
Thanks,
Kory

I was referring to the loss of static compression. Take caution milling L92 heads too much with dished LQ4 pistons. To get to 10.0:1, you're going to need to mill the heads around .036" which will put your valve drop around .097" and it's not guaranteed that the valves will still not hit the pistons. The L92 valves are VERY close to the 4.0" bore of a 6.0L and may hit the outside of the piston dish (the higher part). Maybe, maybe not.

Meaning would you spec something different today than 2yrs ago for the OP? I've read a few more post from people saying, if they had it to do over, they wouldn't mill these heads at all, and go with a bigger cam.I'm very much a novice and just looking for suggestions...Again, referring to OP's wants, would you change the cam today? Also, would the 1 7/8" headers still be recommended for the 6.0?
Thanks for any info

Patrick, I'm also planning a similar build....after almost 2yrs since this was posted, have you learned anymore about the cam design/L92 heads?

Go with a less restrictive intake and exhaust for starters; bigger TB, intake, manifold, true duals, etc.
I think it's pretty safe to assume my combo would've picked up a decent amount up top with those changes.

I have to run cats for emission testing here. Also, I'm LQ4, so generally asking about milling heads or not, and primary size for the 6.0?
I'm also auto and 9", not good for numbers I know but would like to see 420-430

Any new developments for this combo? I'm currently building a .030 over LQ4 with LS3 heads and intake, and I'm in need of cam advice, I want the maximum power under the curve with about a 5500-6000 rpm hp peak. I'll be real happy with 500lbft if its even possible with this combo.

This is what I'm planning to do on my build. Just need to figure a few things out on it. I pm'd Pat G about a cam a while back.
LQ4 6.0L (1999 block)
LS3 heads and intake manifold
Long tube headers and true duals
T56 6-speed
Tuned
What I need are some flat top pistons, I thought about going turbo but maybe later on. I'm gonna have to have the block bored anyways...
What kind of power would it make with the dished pistons in it?
