Nice considering you ran into some issues. Are you having the issues fixed now, or doing it at home then going back to tuner for final numbers ?

I'm going to try and sort them out at home this week, have the tune emailed to me. A friend has HP tuners, so I'll buy some credits and throw the new tune on. I'll eventually throw it back on the rollers, but it's not my top priority at the moment.

Wad up Adam! So you did the install yourself huh? What is your honest impression of it, was it a PITA? I dunno what to do, do it myself or pay someone to have them do it. Pretty good numbers there bro, bet that first drive was hella lotta fun. I was hoping you would put down some more torque, top the 400 barrier, but all in all nice job
I will probably be dropping you a line later for some more info on your install. Catc ya later

Congrats on the numbers. Hopefully it picks up nicely once you get it all straightened out. Even so, I bet it's fun as hell to drive now

Hi Adam, it was nice to meet you on saturday. Boy do you ever have mad skills with a camera!

I talked to Brian from TEA a bit about your car and he suggested you check the valve covers for adequate clearance.

Also, maybe you f-body guys can chime in, but are the SLP headers any good? Could the cats and the Y-pipe be affecting your torque?

I have been under the impression that the SLP headers leave alot to be desired.

Other than valve float I don't understand why the power went flat from 6000 to 6600. There has to be a cork somewhere. What about the stock 75mm MAF?

As a side note-Champions dyno reads on the low side-about 10 rwhp lower compared to other dyno's in the area.

I would like to see 450 rwhp at least.

I sure did. I (1) Can't imagine spending $1k+ for something I can do myself, (2) would hate someone else working on my car, and (3) can't afford it.

It really wasn't all too hard at all. I took my time and (almost) everything worked perfectly.

Feel free to PM/email/call me with any questions!

Once everything gets sorted out, I'll get rid of the cats and get a bigger MAF and lid. Hopefully with everything all said and done we'll be able to see 475.

The first drive was ridiculous. I put the car sideways on the on-ramp.

It was great to meet you Arun. I really appreciate all you've done for me so far.

I'll take a look this week and try and find out what's up. When I take the covers off I'll look to see if there are any marks on them from the rockers.

I'll inspect everything and let you know what I find out. Hopefully it's something simple.

Just for the record my AFR was perfect other than at startup and coasting down long hills in 6th gear. In both cases, it leaned out.

I think that I'll get rid of my cats once this is all sorted out. It's not like they are doing much other than hurting horsepower.

there could be quite a few items plugging up your flow of air, maf, cats and your slp's. It is also hard for the car to react when you have a bad 02 chillen out. All that is worth a few hp here and there but will add up. That 75mm maf is killen you. Slap a cut out on there get rid of those cats and fix that 02 you shall see some major gains. May be try a sd tune!!!

My buddy's 02 SS has similar setup to yours except the heads milled to 59cc final numbers were 458rwhp/421rwtq through noisy Borla Catback so with cutout that thing gonna gain 10/8 least so 468rwhp/429rwtq on the way

peace

Falling on it's face @ 6K is a common problem with TFS heads if you don't carefully measure pushrod length. Just throwing it together and TQ'ing everything down is going to get you that drop off at 6K.

Go back and remeasure your pushrod length, if the length required is different than what you've got, thats where your power after 6K is going.
