Default 404 LS2 dyno results...

Well I have been fighting this thing since I got it back together. Here is my set up...

404 LS2-Diamond pistons(-2cc), total seal rings, eagle h-beams, and eagle crank. Comp ratio is 10.9-1.

Pat G custom cam-253/257 .621/.622 111+2

UNPORTED FAST92/92

Patriot stage III heads(70cc), HS roller rockers

ASP UD pulley

Kooks 1 7/8"-2"-3.5", Kooks ypipe to a 4" Mufflex catback and QTP 4" E-cutout

Moser 9" (4.11's, spool), 3.5" driveshaft, Spec 3+ clutch

Racetronix 255+hotwire kit, 42lb green tops.

And im running a speed density tune now. I couldnt ever get the car to do right with a MAF.

Dyno numbers with cutout closed was 470HP/450TQ.

With cutout open it hit 497hp/467tq.

Yes that is correct, I picked up almosy 30hp with bypassing the spinSHIT muffler. I do love the way the system sounds tho. I still want to get a e-waterpump, port the FAST,and some day swap my heads to some of the sweet *** TFS 235's, or maybe 245's. I think the numbers are decent for the patriot heads, and going through a 9" and 325 drag radials on 16lbs of tire pressure lol. Here is a graph, please critique.

This graph is only of 495, dont know why I didnt get a print out of the 497 one, but oh well, only 2hp lol.

I would not be too upset over that. It has a killer tq curve and that is what makes the car fun to drive. The 427 thread in this section a couple down from this doesn't even have that kind of a tq curve. I would be real happy with that setup knowing there is even more in it.

The cam was built knowing I would be stepping up my heads down the road. Just hard to swing $2500 right now lol. And it is very fun to drive, doesn't buck to bad. Only quirk I have with the drivability is leaving from a stand still, if I don't keep the rpm's above 1500 before I come off the clutch it falls on it's face. Like a dead spot from idle to 1300-1400rpms.

I actually do have a sound clip of it idling...if the link doesn't work try searching for "2000 camaro ss ls2 404". I'm on my phone right now and can't get it to pull up rgular YouTube, only the mobile version.

Those are nice numbers! I see you are from AL, who did you get to do the speed density on it? Does it drive better being speed density?

those are good #s considering the heads. I made 470 with the prc heads and a smallish cam. the cutout open #s are fantastic. Start saving $ for the trick flows.

Yeah that does seem like alot of cam for an unported FAST and those heads. It really falls on its face quick right after peak. It also peaks very early IMO.

HP looks good

rpm wise it does peak very early and rpm drops hard

lack of rpm can be be related to heads/intake and valvetrain issues

I wanted it to peak early actually. I didn't want to spin the motor to the moon. And I think the reason it falls off early might be because of the heads. But either way it's really fun the way it is lol.

maybe ask around about some TFS 220 as cast, they might be alright for a 404 and they only run about $1700

I'm going to hol out for the 235's. Those seem to be a proven setup. I want to get my intake port matched them as well.

Thats actually when I knew I was going to see a big gain! First time I hit it with it open I was like whoa...Also went from running my buddys cobra who I was neck and neck with, cutout closed, to putting a solid 2 cars on him before it was tuned for the cutout. It was pretty lean with it open, and the tuner added some fuel and picked up a solid 10hp there.
