we did flycut,just about any decent sized cam with l92's will require flycutting the pistons.the heads were in the mid 60's,can't remember off the top of my head exactly

Curious as to how much timing and what the a/f was. Also are you running LS3 injectors?
+1. I think the stock LS3 injectors are 41 or 42# @58psi

nice work guys it appears to be more in the heads as Ed regularly points out in his posts. they love lift im sure the cam has plenty of it lol. In Australia we have been seeing 480rwhp on mainlines and DDs ie load not inertia dynos from time to time. This is using WCCH fine creations and also Higgins heads. A guy just pulled 480 with a 233 233 112 single pattern on a mainline too, we dont have dynojets.

Hopefully we see more results from you guys with tough 6L. Now the challenge is there to get more bottom end as pointed out already, whilst still holding 500 is it possible?

considering this was my first shot at a 6.0 with l92's i was pretty happy,lots of refining left to do.i know i can get the bottom end up while keeping the top end power-just need to get one on the engine dyno and test a couple cams

I currently looking for a big cam for 6.0 that will be great in my next 408 stroker. How do you think your cam will perform with around 10:1? Ported L92 heads with ported LS3 intake. thanks

Why would you only want 10:1 compression? You're leaving alot on the table.

It's not a choice, my 6.0L engine is a 07 LY6 with dish piston. Stock compression is around 9.5:1. Its a budget build for the next summer, so I'll mill the heads .030" to bump compression around 10:1, port the heads, put a big cam in it. Next year, I will build a 408 stroker with around 11:1 of compression with the same setup.

Can LS2s w/L92 heads achieve higher compression? I'm just curious why doesn't every mill them more or are they at their limit? They're making killer hp with very low compression. Is it possible to get 11:1 or higher with them?

I believe LS2 with L92 unmilled are around 10.5:1 so if you mill them, you can reach 11:1 I think. They has flat top pistons, in my case they are dish, that's why I will have around 10:1 only..

Per the GM blueprint, the combustion chamber spec is 68.4cc +-1cc. Mine cam in at 68cc, milled them .030 and they came back as 63cc. Average is .006 = 1cc.

A flat top LS2 piston, no reliefs, piston .005 above deck, no milling:
Bore 4
ST = Stroke 3.622
RL = Rod Length 6.098
Number of cylinders 8
Deck Height (how much pistons come out of the hole) 0.005
Piston Dome or Dish (- for a dome + for a dish) 0
Compressed Head gasket thickness 0.052
Cylinder Head Chamber Volume 68.4

Static Compression Ratio 10.31
Dynamic Compresion Ratio 7.64
Rod to Stroke Ratio 1.68
Bore to Stroke Ratio 1.10

Static Compression Ratio 10.24
Dynamic Compresion Ratio 7.59
Rod to Stroke Ratio 1.68
Bore to Stroke Ratio 1.10

Thinner Cometic headgasket:

One BIG thing we learned along the way was not to trade CR for spark lead. These heads love to run 28-29 degrees of advance. In one phase we lowered compression from 12:1 to 11.3:1 and gained HP/T by running 4 degrees more timing.

Just my $.02

Yep, your tuner told me that one. I run 29* right now but I have ran as high as 31* at the drag strip with no spark knock. In fact the 11.67 pass in my sig was on 31*. I only have 10.8:1 CR.
