I was under the impression that those engines pulled high RPMs. Looks like that isn't the case as the power seems to disappear up top.

Wow, 170 TQ from a tune, that's insane. This is probably a complete newb question but how come power drops as rpms rise? I've never seen this before.

Germans.....

So was this an SL600?

I seen one that put down 700/800 that pulled a C6Zo6 on the highway.

They will pull to the 6500 rev limiter, but with massive power and torque at lower rpm, there is obviously no need.

The power comes from the turbos and they start running out of breath at higher rpm.

It was an S65. A 4 door sedan.

The graph just looks like somebody put a stiffer wastegate spring in an already choked out turbo. Note how the before and after graphs come back together at the top side. I'm sure the extra torque is fun, but I wouldn't call this impressive. This just looks like someone took the "warranty wiggle room" out of the stock settings.

Nothing was physically changed on the car. The TB, Air box and stock exhaust are restricting the car from making any more power. The stock turbos run around 22-25psi.

In stock for the car runs 11.5 at 122 weighing 5023lbs. Hopefully this will get him close to the 10's.

Log the dyno or road file, then e-mail the logs to the tuner who is off-site, then the tuner sends the revised calibration via e-mail to the client (just like we do with Diablosport CMR). The client loads the tune into his handheld programmer (like the Predator) and then reflashes the vehicle. I believe the program is from Germany. I wish you guys had some CMR software for the MB vehicles as I would be all over tuning them. For this session, I was just a spectator.
Cool deal.

We do have big plans that include many of the popular Euro applications, and when it happens, we plan to make a big splash in that market. Keep an eye out...

how is that not impressive?

At certain points the car makes an extra 200 pounds of torque. What does it matter if it comes back together at the top side?
200 POUNDS OF TORQUE from a tune!!!

Stock hp and torque are in the dotted lines:
531rwhp and 688 rwtq bone stock. All in a 4800 lb 4 door sedan.

After a laptop tune (still stock intake, exhaust):
582 rwhp, 840 rwtq. The dip after torque peak is wheel spin on the chassis dyno. Just be careful when picking on some unassuming 4 door Benz. You might see tail lights.

More details about the car here: http://www.mbworld.org/forums/s55-am...ive-gains.html

WOW! What has it ran?

Forget to mention but the car ran 11.53 @ 121mph "bone stock" and only using DR`s.. 5000lb race weight.

I lost a $50 bet to a guy in a 2 door biturbo Benz one night with my SOn-in-Law in his 515 RWHP Cobra. It was the worst beating I have been involved in.

This doesn't surprise me considering the hp/tq gains the euro's get out of bumping the boost in turbo'd 2.0L motors. The saab, audi, vw guys see upwards of 70ft/lbs of torque and 40-50hp with just a tune upgrade. Granted, they go from the factory 11-12psi of boost to 16psi, but it's quite a noticable change.

So I can totally see the upgrade has on a v-12 with twin turbos that spool up quickly.

Quite impressive. Maybe someday, when the kids college is paid off, I gotta get em out of daycare first.

wow. id say its damn impressive. is the customer planning for any mods, or just gonna stick with this almighty torque monster? on a side note, look at the guy's previous cars...

anyone ever got ahold of a Brabus car? the torque has to be limited on some of those cars according to Top Gear, so id love to see a modded one of those...

Yep...these cars are impressive. Mine is a CL600 and went 12.29 @ 115 with a 1.97 60' on BFG G-force all seasons with a ~3900' DA this past weekend. The difference in the 600s and 65s are primarily in displacement (5.5L vs 6.0L).

About 5-6 yrs ago a guy brought a dampner into a machine shop i worked at and asked us if we could fix it. It was for a benz sedan with a supercharger from the factory. He was installing it and trashed the keyway bad. My boss said yeah it won't be cheap, he said it was $5,000 we almost **** ourselves! So we welded tigged it up and rebroached the key for like $300-$400. I think it added like 4-5lbs of boost and came with some new tune you installed yourself or something. That did not include any dynoing.
