How does the 14 hp gain compare to a untuned but ported LS3 intake?

How comparable?

Holy rich a:f ratio. Lean it out to ~12.6:1 and see what it picks up. Who says a FAST kills low end power....

we are beginning a 427 build for one of our customers G8 GXPs. He will be using this intake on his build.

So in a few weeks, we will be dynoing the combo. We plan on doing a back to back with the stock intake, and then the LSX-r

That will finally give us the chance to see what this intake is really capable of on a healthy build with some tuning.

I would have liked to see this comparison with the car tuned on the stock LS3 manifold first, then with the FAST tuned. That would give a better reading of what the FAST actually picked up.

With as rich of an A/Fr that was putting out, you would think that increase in HP is just from leaning it out eh?

Maybe I missed something?

Hmm, I just noticed the after tune A/F. I figured it was around 12.8 or so tuned...weird.

Jeff why is the A/Fr so low after the tune?

The A/F on both pulls (before and after) is nearly identical? We didnt do any tuning on this car.

Ok, as you can see in the pic in my sign I am presently running the GMPP Single plane carb style intake with an ultra low profile Edelbroke elbow. My question is will there be any advantage to me, or is it worth the money for me to switch to this manifold. I was not at all please with the performance of my setup NA at the track. Since then I have installed a rear mount GT-88 turbo, but I am still not pleased with the power and I have been thinking for some time now that the problem is in the elbow.

So my question is which works best, the LS3 stock intake compaired to the GMPP intake with ultra low profile elbow? If anyone knows the answer to this then it will help me make my desision on weither or not to spend another $1000 to switch to this new manifold.
