it very well could. i may be able to donate one of our lids to see if it makes a diff.

i would like to say than any of my opinions do not reflect where i work. they are mine and mine alone. we actually use robinson for our tuning.

out of sheer boredom and dislike for cockiness i decided to pick a fight with him.

i do the mods of this site for letting the **** talking comence. unlike other boards.(ls1.com) where anything gets u banned now a days.

eller

i doubt there are very many on this site that know of speedtek that arent from Texas. people should make decisions by a shops performance, knowledge and customer service. not by if they think an employee's attitude towards certian people. i can name a list of people that hate me cause they cant take a joke sometimes. all i can say is f*** em'

on an ending note. see you at the track soon.....

I wonder if the stock lifters are bleeding down in the upper rpm range?

...just a thought.

The car we are talking about is running the COMP R's and the new ones are using stock. Should be interesting.

Craig,

I never said squat about tuning until I was attacked by another flamer first. The fact is that I can back up the claims I made and many people know it. It has nothing to do with cockiness - but knowledge, ability, and commitment to perfection. I don't go around tooting my horn because frankly I don't have to

Do you realize the things that people often hate in others are the traits they themselves possess to a large degree? Life's too short to go through life hating. Ask yourself how many times a day you say "I hate ........" and then when you count them you'll realize what I'm talking about bro

I'll keep everyone updated

Chris

I don't think it's in the tuning! That dyno shows that motor is not happy! It doesn't make the power it should and shuts off WAY too early. The problem will be found. I can't wait to find out. It's better than a thriller movie waiting to find out who did it in the end.

Ill put my TSP lid on it the next time we dyno, but I myself am leaning toward valvetrain geometry.

what were they set up at? Open and seat pressures? Installed height?

Also, pull a rocker and tell me the # of turns of preload.

Stay tuned because we just did 3 more cars all with the same heads and all used stock lifters so this shouldn't be an issue with them. I'm curious to see more results myself so time will tell

Chris

----------------------------------------

We don't need to beat a dead horse here and I am not trying to put anyone on a pedestal, but Chris is a great tuner and everyone that has used him has been very happy, so that is neither here nor there.

I have a vested interest in the results and will be ONE of the 3 cars that will dyno with these 6 liter LS6 style heads. They are on right now but my tranny went out 2 hours after I installed these so we haven't dynoed yet.

I should be ready to go next week to put her on the dyno to get the results.

I have a 2001 Corvette Coupe and will post the specifics when we actually get the results.

Thanks

The Bandit.......................

Some 224/224 cam'd cars make as good or better peak numbers with better area under the curve. If the tune is dead on, I'd go a leak down because something isn't right with that set up IMO.

Is the clutch slipping? Were the tires properly inflated?

What are your findings? What have you been able to eliminate?

The compression will be checked when the car gets the 4.10's put in on Thursday. Assuming that is ok we will switch lids after checking the rocker arms for the correct tolerances and geometry. If that is all ok then I'll likely just switch the heads and retune with no other changes to see whether or not they are a problem on this particular car
