1998 C-5 shop car budget build..
We have a 98 vette with 70k miles on it as our shop car. We decided to do a budget build with an LS2 block we had laying around. Used pistons, Used rods, used crank. We got a killer deal on a pair of RHS 225 runner heads (the only part of this build that I wouldnt consider "budget friendly". We couldnt have gotten them if not for the incredible price. 224/224 601/601 115LSA cam. FAST 92 intake. Kooks lont tubes.
stock converter, Auto. Stock mufflers. Stock air intake set up with stock paper air filter.
396rwhp, 397rwtq.
Dyno graph to follow soon. We have one or two more pulls to make.
Car idles like stock. We were hoping for 420rwhp and I have no doubts that will happen once we port the intake (good for a minimum of 10 more horse) and get a good CAI on the car.
I am very pleased with these results for a stock build using random left over parts laying around the shop.

final graph.
Now for the intake port job, a good CAI, and maybe a truck coil swap to see if there are any gains with them.
I think results are good considering the very small cam through an auto.
