Default 408 with Trickflow 220 as-casts - 04 A4 GTO

Dyno'd her today with only 40 miles on the new motor. I'm sure she will only get better with age.

11.76:1 compression
Iron LQ4
4.030 bore
4.00" Stroke
Wiseco pistons (-8cc)
Eagle rods (6.125")
K1 (Carillo) Crank
All ARP hardware
Trickflow 220cc heads (As-cast - 62cc - 4.0" bore)
Yella Terra 1.7 roller rockers
LS7 lifters
Comp Cams 239/247 .624/.624 112+0 LSA
7.500" pushrods
Cometic .040 gaskets
All assembly done by yours truly.

1 3/4" Kooks headers
Magnaflow exhaust
off-road midpipes
K&N Intake for 04 GTO (HUGE RESTRICTION ! ! ! ! !)
FAST 90/PTM90
HPTuners tune - by ME

Final Dyno numbers:
475RWHP
490RWTQ

Will probably look into a bigger maf and intake tube to see how much she picks up. It was showing 96KPA at WOT which is a dead indicator of an intake restriction.

I just wanted add a huge thanks to Oak200 on LS1GTO.com (Paul) and JMantis here on LS1TECH (Jim) for their invaluable assistance with the actual motor swap. No way could I have done it without them. Two weekends in a row without a complaint and all the encouragment a guy could ask for. Also another thanks to Oak200 for helping with the pre-assembly. And of course, let's not forget Hardcore for helping me with the wideband and for all the myriad tuning/engine build conversations we have had.

congrats. gotta admire anyone who does their own build. Ed from VA Speed would tell you to "get rid of the elbow". might want to consider eliminating the MAF and going SD, although i know there are differences of opinion regarding that.

What value(s) should the MAP have during WOT? During the whole WOT rpm range should that value be the same? Does that value vary with engine size?

All that means is that there is vacuum in the intake at WOT. Ideally you want it to be at 100KPA at WOT, which is equal to 1 atmosphere. Mostly you'll see 99 or so throughout the RPM band if there are no restrictions.

I'm a big fan of SD, but it takes a lot....and I mean a LOT of tuning time and effort. Then, even when it's almost perfect, the next day it rains and it's all out of whack. I think I'll end up going OLMAF in the end with a 4" tube, 100mm MAF, and "Hardcore" style setup.

It would be nice to get rid of the elbow though, I just don't like the current OTR offerings.

Nice numbers! I am shooting for at least 475 this Friday when SNL installs one of their 4" CAI's and retunes the car. I won't be anywhere near that torque though. The smaller headers might be holding you back some there also.

Great numbers! You'll have to keep us up to date on any track numbers or "stoplight battles"

Yeah, that number came in way above my expectations, I think I am only a few minor tweaks away from 500HP/500TQ

I'll bet that car picks up quite a bit with a different induction setup! Have you looked into the "Svede speed" CAI? Some serious quality from what it looks like?

Nice work

Finally got her to the track.

first run was a spin fest.....so was the second.

Third pass was a 11.34@121
backed up by a 11.38@120.7 and an 11.35@120.85

Next up I guess will have to be a bigger stall. 2200 RPM launches are just funny compared to my 3600 stall in the old car. Still managed a trio of 1.5x sixty foots (best in the old car was a 1.63), but I'd love to see a 1.4x

He shouldn't be too far off if he can get a good 1.4x outta the car; remember a tenth in the 60ft is a bit more out the back door.

I'll be happy with 1.6x's and 11.6's with this set up. Damn 6-spds are a little harder to launch at the track, but so much more fun on the street.
