8 months ago my h/c/i car lost a piston and needed an upgrade.only changes made from the mods in sig was the 415 short block and kooks 1 7/8 headers as i was on a strick budget. I will try to get a graph up as soon as poss.

so you went from 476/425 to 500/498 with just a bottom end change? not bad. I bet that extra torque feels great

Whats the compression on this motor ? I don't think the cam is the issue here, more so the heads. Current h/c setup seem to be a good match for each other. I do think if you went with some TFS 235's you'd see huge power gains. But if you did that, I'd advise you to get a custom cam to optimize the setup. I'll give you a hint on a cam that works awesome with TFS heads 239/243 .623/.623 113+3 and drives like stock with Mike@vengeance tuning. With your extra cubes, you could a bit bigger then I did on my 402 and with proper tuning it will idle like stock and drive like stock.

Save your money for some TFS 235s, a custom cam, and gain 50-60 rwhp over your current setup. BTW, you won't be sacrificing anything either. Check out my sig for a little verification of my ideas for you.

compression is 11.5:1. Kept pulling timimg and getting stronger. I would have loved to gone more aggressive, but wasnt gonna break the bank doing it

Whats the bore on those ls6 heads ? If they aren't opened up to match the cylinders then you are missing out. Opening the the heads to match would be a lot cheaper then new heads and custom cam. Not knocking your combo just looking for reasons it barely made 500 rwhp. Your heads are the main culprit and the cam is the other. Either way you got a stout combo with a lot of potential to grow.

Can you post a graph so we all can see what kind of torque she made down low? I'd expect at least 400 rwtq at 3000 rpms, considering its a 415 I'd hope a few more.

Any chance of you doing some video of the car at start up, and WOT on the street?

3.9 bore. I actually talked with Mike at TEA and told him my setup and said these would really shine. I wont lie,I was expecting a little more power but the torque was spot on. I have a couple little things I can do,plus I want to try a cut out. I don't know efficient my Hooker cat back is

I just looked at your sig and all I can say is get ready for 10's if you can get her to hook.

So,should I rework the heads or sell them and purchase another set?I know you get what you pay for but damn. Another 50 ponies sounds good.

First thing I'd do is look into how much your exhaust (catback not headers) is holding you back. New TFS 235's, YT Rockers, and new cam ain't cheap. Just address the exhaust restriction if there is one, and then save your money knowing that in the future you are going to be making a good bit more hp with a better set of heads and a custom cam based on the new heads (TFS 235's). yeah that many cubic inches through a 3" catback....

integrate a 4" FM merge, a 4" cutout, then mate it to the current catback if you want stealth.

power when you want it, quiet (kindda) when you need it

my hooker catback only loses 12-15 rw over a 3 " cutout. it is a decent catback, especially for the money.if you are wanting to gain 10-15 rw when you race a cutout sounds like a good option. still running a maf ? if you don't have an 85 maf/ 85 mm lid thost 2 will probably pick you up 10+ rw also, mine did but obviously some setups respond diferently to changes than others.

Thanks for the input. I went SD but do have the 85mm lid. I also have the kooks ORP with a 4 inch merge and had a 4 inch cutout with no ground clearense so had to take it off before the dyno.
