Default TFS 215 Vs. Cartek 4x Heads

I would like to see some dyno graphs of both just to see which would make better power. Let me hear yall opinions. Which would you rather?

Mods:
4000 stall
Lt headers
FAST 92mm/92mm
230/230 cam (El Torro)
Y pipe w/ 3in. Cut out.
3.73's

Also i want to know what yall think i would be running. 11's? high 10's?
So if you got some graphs post em.

Thanks, Cody

You'll get some very strong arguments from a few of the members over in the Jersey area who are running 10's with cartek 4x heads and similar but different setups when compared to yours.

My vote is for the TFS 215's. Amazing quality CNC'd head. Should be good and reliable if you ever throw some spray at it.

However in the end its your money, your choice. Best of luck either way you go.

BTW Ron@vengeanceracing is an authorized TFS dealer and matches any advertised price. Give him a call.

We have tried similar combo, milled Cartex 4x and flycut pistons. Excellent results (see graph. C5

Hey Pred Z, the graph is very faint. Whats the numbers 460+ rwhp 430+ rwtq? The curve looks like she pulls from the start all the way to the top.

Yes, sure did. Fuzzy on my end. Looks like the graph was kinda light and then when it was scanned got lighter. Thanks for the info. My original comment stands. Looks like she pulls down low, all the way to the top.

i know both of these heads are proven to make crazy power! Also i know my setup is probably diffrent from others i belive most guy run bigger cams in the high 230/240 range. But i've been looking at the El Torro cam and its been provin time and time again to make good torque and Hp. So i'd figure i would get great numbers between the two heads.

I'm looking for a strong setup, The main reason im doing this is because me and my father are pretty much having a war. lol i want to have a strong setup because i know he does.

But im looking for around 470/425 range in power. Also i'm Sure im going to throw a 200 shot on later in the future.

Let me know what you think? Opinions and diffrent options?

What your looking for my ls1 was close to that with AFR 205 heads and I still had more in it. I vote on the TFS 215 head. my bud has them on a 383ci 11.5 comp and makes 500hp on the same dyno I got 530hp on. The TFS head is a great power proven performing head. They have alot of options vs other heads like deck thickness for 200hp of n.o.s. Not knocking cartek's product at all. they seem to do some great things,I just vote TFS.....right doug. lol

Talk to PredZ but I don't think the El Torro is the cam you want if you plan on spraying that much.

Another vote for the TFS 215cnc. I have these heads on my stock bottom end 346ci with a Allan Futral custom 232/236-646/612@114LSA cam fast 90mm intake, NW 90mm TB. Full weight 2002 Z28 Camaro and went 10.90@123mph. I will be looking to beat that with the new suspension setup and the new th350 tranny!!Good luck in your search! H.P. isn't as important to me as the track results. In any case I made 447rwhp and 403rwtorque. Also what ever head you decide you go with I would get a cam cut to work with those heads! Not saying you won't make good power with an off the shelf cam shaft but it is good practice to have all your parts working together! Just a thought!

try a custom cam from EPS (engine power systems) http://www.engpwrsys.com/ , they have killer cams with new lobe design. one of thier custom cams made 430rwhp with stock heads but that wasn't a dynojet can't remember what kind of dyno. personaly i will take a custom cam from EPS for my new AI CNC TFS heads that i will buy from AI.

I'm not sure on the specifics of valve angle and size on the Cartek heads, (I assume angle is same as factory since these are ported factory castings) but TFS uses a tighter angle to allow a bigger valve to be used on a smaller bore and still maintain clearance. This allows greater airflow especially in the mid and upper rpms. For example (using my 402 as the info source) a 2.02 valved afr 205 vs a 4 inch bore TFS 215 was 28.xx rwhp less at peak, however the smaller runner and valved head did a great job keeping up until 4000 rpms, after that is it was all TFS. Sorry I don't have a comparison for the Cartek heads, in the end its up to you.
