Hey all, I'm looking at picking up TR224-112. TR has a couple packages that I've got my eyes on. I have my stock LS1 heads (I'll be getting a set of Patriots or PRC's after my move), but if the 224 is as aggressive as I'm gonna take the cam will there be a benefit in moving up to the dual springs?

Dual springs have to be changed about every 20,000 miles so I've heard because they have alot of wear on each other. People always recommend singles to me when I did my cam. And I believe PAC makes a single spring that supports .660 lift if you still wanted the best spring. Just my .02

Well I'll probably go with Comp-26918, beehives. It's a daily driver, hell I'm about to drive it from California to North Carolina. Are the Comp-26918 and TR224-112 gonna hold up and perform as well when I (hopefully) put in the 4" crank this summer?

The tr224 that I have didnt pick up much peak numbers compared to my original cam (216/220 .522 on 116) but picked up big time power and tq across the curve. I also trapped 2 mile an hour more in the 1/4. I have bigger and better exhaust going on soon so we'll see what it does.

i know this is an older thread but, HP and TQ numbers dont mean much when it comes to ET, gearing is what makes all the difference...if you are going through the traps at 107MPH and only running 13.40s this means you have some obvious traction issues, 107MPH SHOULD put you in the mid 12s approx. if you can hook it up, 2.20-2.30 60' times are pretty bad, if you could cut those times down, you would run a much quicker number at the big end..i'd recommend sliding the clutch off the line instead of dropping it...puts much less stress on the drivetrain also.

I ran a cam just like that. it was good, made some power 50hp over stock NO WAY. I found out i could go bigget, get more power and it drove just as good. I would say go more now. a 228/232 will make more power and drive just as good when tuned. In the end you will be more happy.
SILVER02SS- 330hp running 11.88?? what does that car weight. My buds camaro made 350hp,m6 4.11's and went 12.1. Whats done to your car? do you have video of this car??

Im gonna guess the 4:11's with an M6 is killing his times. Most people cant shift fast enough to keep up with the 4:11's so it hurts them more than anything.

The car is a 02, M6, 241 heads (stock) with all of the bolt ons. I am making 363 RWHP/ 370 RWT right now the car runs 8.40s @ 86 MPH in the 1/8 and 13.40s @ 107 in the 1/4. and gets 28-29 MPG on the hi way. So I am just looking for guys that have ran that cam only combo and ask what kind of gains did you get? HP, ET, mileage.
And I have been reading the cam only sticky. I dont understand some guys are making less than me, and some guys are making a little more? I am thinking that it should put me about 410RWHP/390RWT ???
Your car should be running closer to 13.0 with that 1/8th mile time and also you should be picking up more mph on the back half. You should be close to 400 rwhp with the cam you have. What is your shift point? Need to be shifting around 6000-6200

Most are around 380rwhp with the 224 cam some more then others. Choose a cam based on your driving style and what you want out of it and let the numbers be what they will be

Yep. 370-400 depending on the setup. A4 vs. M6. Different dyno's etc.

Shift points and shift speed will alter MPH. Spinning too much to where you shift early will drop it.

I went from 365hp-385tq to 402hp-391tq with the TR224 112. I didn't pick up much peak tq at all. I did however pick up a lot of mid range tq.

I made 414/372 on an LS6 intake, worked 243 heads, ported stock TB, stock injectors and a 224/228 .637 .639 110 PatG cam.
Did a 102 swap recently and should be getting tuned soon. Expecting 440rw.
