Default Ran the car on with a G-tech

I ran the car 4 times with the G-Tech with my buddy in the car also and he weighs 160lbs. 2 times it didn't hook up 12.70's @ 114. 60' times were in the low 2.4's The two times it did hook up it went 12.25 and 12.29 at 115.8 and 115.4. 60' times were 2.06 and 2.09. What do you guys think? Is that good or bad with my HP and torque numbers?

I took my g-tech to the track and it was with in 1 tenth, but the mph was waaaaay off. still the 1/4mi times were close. take it to a track with some tires and see how close your's is. If your car can run 12.2's,thats pretty good and can hold its own against most on the streets. Also, when i had close to the power you have now,my car was not much faster if you can run 12.2's.

I haven't set the g-tech up yet to do a horsepower reading. I'm going to take the car and have it weighed this weekend so that I can do that.

Ok cool well let me know if it is close to what the dyno says. I have always wondered if they were accurate.

My experience with the G-Tech in my Corvette was very similar -- the ET was always almost spot on however the mph always came in a bit high.

Good numbers from your setup -- the ET sounds about right and the mph might be a shade higher than you should expect at the track.

Tire pressure was 24.5. I have lower control arms and panhard bar. I also have subframe connectors.

398 rwhp is good for 11 seconds. I ran 12.4209 with headers and a tune only. Lower the tire psi to about 16-17 and try again on your launch. Sounds like you may need a higher gear to get into the powerband quicker.

I was going to try and lower the tire pressure to 16. I really would like to see the 11's. That was my goal to stay as streetable as possible and break into the 11's on motor alone. Once I got there then probably nitrous. I don't want to play the game of throwing a bunch more money at it just to knock a little off of the ET. By the way DJfury.... GO BLUE!

Agreed, take it to the track. The reason it is reading a higher mph than you would see at the track is because you are spinning the tires so much. At the track your car isn't going to spin as much and it should leave a lot harder there fore shorting the time your car has to build up momentum. You may see 2-3 mph less because of this. Also if you want a little more mph when you go to the track make sure you stage deep at the light. This will help with the mph. If you want a little better e.t. then stage shallow at the line. I think you get my point.

Your setup should be good for an 11 second pass.

If i remember the mph was off by 6 or 7 mph. the 1/4mi was just a tad slower then the track by less then 1 tenth.

the Gtech measure actual MPH at the end of the 1/4 and the track averages the last 60' i think, which is one of the reasons its off. Usually the Gtech measure MPH about 4.5% too high. Or at least mine used to. E.T was close enough though usually. within a tenth or so

ok. I weighed my car today. With me in it the car weighed 3860lbs. I weigh 200 so the car is 3660. With my buddy in it with me we weighed 4020 lbs. My best run was 12.25 and when you put that into a horsepower calculator I saw any where from 430 to 450. I dynoed at 398. What's up with that?

thats why hp calculators based on ET are extremely innacurate because bogging a launch will tell you that your car is making a lot less horsepower than its actually making
