Default ECS n/a cam results

installed a ECS n/a cam in my 02 Z06 and got it tuned this week. The torque is low and i need to find out why. A friend said a stock c6z dynoed 430 on this same dyno. ECS does not give out the specs on their cams which i dont care. chris at ecs has been great to deal with and we talked about what my plans were with my car/what i wanted and this is the cam i got. I plan on installing TFS 215 heads and a ported FAST intake/tb next year. The car is going to be setup for street/open track events. This cam pulls hard all the way up to 6800 rpm and really is okay for a daily driver. There is some low rpm/low load bucking but not to bad at all. This is my first cammed car and it does not bother me at all. Plus i love the way the car sounds!!!

dyno

on one of the pulls the car made 419/360 but this is the one they sent me.

mods:
1 7/8" ARH headers with 3"x3" ORX pipe, vararam cai and powerduct, slp pulley, ecs cam, stock Ti catback.

No specs even if you purchase the cam? Screw that. Something is up with the torque for sure.

Nice peak hp but low end grunt for lack of a better term sucks. I bet you could re cam your motor with the help of another vendor or Pat G to give back a few peak HP but beef up the low end numbers all the way across the board and the car would feel twice as fast with less peak. Something to think about.

Now with that being said if you are happy, to hell with my opinion.

I wouldn't buy anything without knowing exactly what it is.

Highly doubtful... Not to start a tuner war But juilio and Doug have tuned for me.

Both are great tuners.

As for buying a cam and not knowing what it is... **** that noise.

Your car is crazy low on tourqe, what does chris think it is?

Thanks for the compliment.

This car was NOT tuned by us, he is just using our cam, and if anyone does not like purchasing a cam without specs, then dont. We sell packages that work, and our proven many times over, if thats not for you, by all means, go elsewhere.

Pretty obvious from the Dyno graph this wasn't done at ECS...that is, unless they've recently moved to Kentucky and bought a Dynojet again.

so lets get this straight, i say the tuner cant tune, and you automaticly start defending ecs, when clearly they didnt tune the car, and i never said or hinted or eluded to that they did

Reading is fundamental. I fundamentally can't read and mis-interpreted your comment.

It aint your tuner. He has tuned a bunch of cars for me, including cammed FI cars. I would put him up against anyone on this or any other forum...period. Since the ECS cam was designed around you upgrading your heads/intake in the future, maybe they designed the cam around you "growing into it" with later mods, and for now, its just a little much for your car to handle...I'd talk to ECS about the situation and see what they have to say.
